For the second year running, we got the chance to indulge in the ultimate festive feast of chocolate, turkey and Neighbours. Here’s what happened…

After overhearing Max tell Katya about his new car, a silver 4x4, Elle stole his keys from behind the bar in order to continue her scheme. Initially shocked by Max’s choice to by a car so similar to that which killed Cameron, Elle decided to take the car for a spin, however, little did she know Max had hired a PI to follow her. Shortly after the PI had phoned Max to inform him what had been going on and that he’d send a report the next day, Elle caught him taking photographs and demanded to know what had been going on. Meanwhile, Max told Paul what Elle had been up to and after overhearing Paul asking Elle what she’d been up to, Lyn asked Max if he was going to press charges and was relieved to hear that he wouldn’t. As the report arrived, Max was left convinced that he was going mad as it revealed that Elle had been at a day spa, as she had said, and not driving around in his new car as the PI initially reported. Bewildered and frustrated by this, Max committed himself to psychiatric care, worried about the safety of his family. Seeing how worried Lyn was for her family, Paul paid for his psychiatrist, Dr. Young to treat her son-in-law. As the doctor diagnosed him with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Max refused to believe that he wasn’t going mad, a belief strengthened by the side effects of the sleeping pills he was on, which after seeing him under their influence, left Steph convinced that Max was losing his mind.

Loris bonded with Bree as she tried to help her to find the Baxters, but as they returned unsuccessful, found herself evicted by Janelle, furious at her mother-in-law’s interference. Meanwhile, determined to provide for her family, Loris bought a 40% share in Lassiter’s from Paul for them, but not before convincing the hotelier that she was a naïve old woman and learning from him that a further 9% was bought by the Johnson Corporation, which she then bought, making her and Paul equal partners. She then set out to find the owner of the other 2% in a bid to gain the controlling share.

Fed up of the Audrey debacle, Karl suggested they send her to live with Libby, but Susan made another appointment with the pet therapist in which they seemed to make real progress, with Karl on all fours growling like a German Shepherd crossed with a Poodle. Meanwhile, shocked at the $200 an hour emergency call out fee, Karl made a deal with the therapist that if one of his friends made an appointment and mentioned his name she would give him a 17.5% discount and he set out to pimp for the therapist.

Ned & Katya grew closer as she outed him as a Backstreet Boys fan and they pretended to be part of the band’s entourage to sneak in to Lassiter’s where the band were staying. Unfortunately, they didn’t get to see them, but managed to grab a pen and a sock before security threw them out. Meanwhile, Katya helped Zeke impress Garrett using her ‘model’ friends and the teen was overjoyed when finally he made the Dingoes team, just in time for the final game of the season.

As Paul was left on his own to look after Oscar the business tycoon learnt that money didn’t buy happiness, or love as he and Oscar had fun with a cardboard box and his false leg. Later though, as Steph convinced Lyn that it was a mistake to leave Paul to do so, the mother rushed home and was shocked to see them cuddled up on the sofa dressed as pirates reading a story, instead of the chaos she and her daughter had assumed would be awaiting her.

Finally this week, Toadie phoned Steph and told her that he was staying in Sydney for six months and let Boyd & Janae know that they had to move out as he was moving tenants in whilst he was away. Meanwhile, Loris gave Dylan & Sky $10,000 as an early wedding present and Carmella set out to find Teresa’s baby in order to ask for visitation rights but was shocked to learn that the baby had died three months earlier.
