As Ramsay Street welcomed some new neighbours, they worried for the safety of another...

With his adverts for new housemates failing to attract any candidates, Ned enlisted Katya’s help to finally find the perfect three, backpacker Will Griggs and newly engaged couple Frazer Yeats & Heidi ‘Pepper’ Steiger, daughter of Police Snr. Sgt. Allan Steiger. However, it soon became clear that Frazer & Pepper’s relationship was little more than a deal to get a room in the share house. Meanwhile, Tim Collins had already offered Toadie’s room to the law firm’s new articles clerk, Rosetta Cammeniti, leaving Will forced to take the small bedroom. Sisters, Carmella & Rosetta were shocked to learn that they were living on the same street and although there was clearly no love lost between the sisters they soon called a truce. However, the arrival of Lucia Cammeniti revealed that ‘Rosie’ was escaping an arranged marriage to ‘Johnny Brown’ but with the help of her new housemates, Rosetta was empowered to tell her mother where to go. Meanwhile, Will receive some money from ‘Alan Napier’, but only kept $100 of it, burning the rest. As the week went on, Pepper was offered the job as Erinsborough High’s new Physical Education teacher, but not without putting her foot in it with her former teacher, Susan about Karl, not remembering who he was and calling him an old ‘fuddy-duddy’ after he complained about the noise from number 30. Also, after rescuing Janae from a difficult situation with Pepper’s father over the licensing laws, Will was thrilled when Steph offered him a job as barman at Scarlet Bar.

Steph was devastated when Max called her by the name of his late wife and admitted to Lyn that she didn’t think that it was a good idea for Max to come home, however he overhead and convinced that he was mentally unstable destroyed his hospital room. Meanwhile, Elle regretted what she’d done to Max and admitted the truth to Max, but convinced that she was Steph and told her that she was better off without him. Later that evening as Steph & Boyd returned to collect Max they were shocked to discover that he had gone and as they relieved the events of that day, Steph & Boyd wondered if there was anything they could have said or done differently to make him stay.

Feeling lost and alone Max rid himself of all memories of his life and family thinking it was best for them and took the first bus out of Erinsborough but as the police found the abandoned belongings at the bus stop, Steph & Boyd were left worried sick, especially when they discovered that Max had given away his wedding ring. With the police questioning if Max purposely ran away to escape the manslaughter charge, Steph called Toadie for advice and was shocked to see him back from Sydney and on her doorstep, however with number 30 now bursting at the seams with residents, he was offered a bed at number 32, leaving Boyd less than happy with Steph’s apparent lack of concern for his father.

Worried about their relationship, Katya tried to push Loris away from Ned, not realising that Loris was trying to push him towards Carmella. Meanwhile, in a bid to impress Loris, Harold received a makeover from Carmella whilst a newly empowered Rosetta pushed Carmella into confronting her feelings for Ned. However, after Katya intercepted a letter from Carmella which asked Ned to meet her by Lassiter’s Lake, the former nun was heartbroken when her man didn’t show. Realising that Ned wasn’t the sort of man not to let her down gently, Rosie pointed out to Carmella that Katya must have been to blame.

Also this week, Lyn was thrilled when Paul presented her with tickets for an all expenses paid trip to New York, giving her the chance to see her daughters, Felicity & Michelle, but worried about leaving Steph when she needed her most. However as Steph convinced her mother to go, Elle decided to stay claiming that she wanted to prove herself with Lassiter’s and finally, Zeke’s plan to get a tattoo with the rest of the Dingoes was foiled by Karl & Susan, with a little help from Bree.
