Guy returned to Erinsborough this week, determined to get his hands on the cash Katya had hidden and which he believed was rightfully his, only to be caught out by Zeke when he went snooping around Number Thirty. Undeterred, he dug up Harold’s allotment and then hot-tailed it to the hospital, where he threatened to hurt Zeke, only for Katya to miraculously wake and knock Guy out. Katya and Zeke fled the hospital, only for her to be caught out and returned, and as she admitted her wrong-doings, Karl decided he no longer wanted her living with Zeke and Rachel, severely testing his relationship with Susan. Ned also turned his back on her, unable to believe she had lied and hurt him, leaving Katya very alone.

The Kinski-Kennedy clan were relieved when newly rich Janelle dropped her lawsuit against Karl, but Sky then dropped a bombshell, revealing she was going to put in a complaint to the medical board. Crushed, Karl quit his job before he could be fired, horrifying Susan, and placing further strain on their relationship. The storyline with Katya has produced some very strong performances from the Kennedy-Kinski family. As always, Jackie Woodbourne and Alan Fletcher were faultless, but Dichen Lachman and Matthew Werkmeister also showed how much they had improved over the past year, and you could really believe their sibling solidarity and determination to stick together. The pressure on Susan and Karl was also very believable, with Karl’s determination to protect Rachel and Zeke very sweet.

The other storylines were rather smaller this week; the sexual tension between Paul and Rosetta grew, and both determined not to act on their feelings as Lyn obliviously made her wedding plans. Meanwhile, Toadie rejected Steph, feeling she wasn’t over Max yet, Janelle began to pursue Senior Sgt. Steiger and turned to botox and then breast enlargements in a bid to make herself look good.
Ned, suddenly over Katya, decided to go after Carmella again, only for her to tell him she was in love with Will now. Ned’s behaviour is decidedly dodgy; first he wants Carmella, then Katya, when Katya turns out to be a liar he decides he loves Carmella again. Please, find a direction for the character and stick with it, or get rid of him. There just seems to be nothing credible about him anymore. What happened to the acting career he wanted to pursue?
Lou, determined to be reunited with Mishka, who had been sent back to Russia after attempting to bribe an immigration official, applied for an air steward job, only to be rejected because of his age, prompting him and Harold to file a lawsuit.
And finally, Kerry’s naming ceremony arrived, and Bree finally made up with Sky as the baby was officially named Kerry Breanna Mangel.
