Whilst helping Freya Wozniak to search for her missing boyfriend, Gareth Bateman, police constable Levi Canning, he decided to try putting a trace on Gareth's mobile number. Later, his colleague, Eliz, came to tell him that the number had been out of use for months, but had started being used again the day before and was traceable to somewhere nearby. She asked Levi if he wanted the information passed on to anti-corruption, but he said that he would deal with it himself.

Soon after, Eliz arrived on Ramsay Street to arrest Zara Selwyn for arson, following a fire at Erinsborough High. Given her history of arson, Zara seemed like the obvious culprit, but it later emerged that she was being set up by Sadie Rodwell and Aubrey Laing. A couple of months later, Eliz was part of the police interviews when David Tanaka and Freya Wozniak were brought in for questioning over the death of Gareth Bateman at River Bend.
