When Joe Scully picked up a passenger in his cab from outside the casino early one morning, he began chatting to the man, George Baker, about his life, and particularly the money problems he was having. He mentioned that his eldest daughter, Steph, was about to turn 21 and he felt guilty that he couldn’t make it a memorable occasion for her. By the end of the ride, George, who’d had a big win playing blackjack the previous night, decided to give Joe a $500 tip and told him to use it to make Steph’s birthday a special one.
Notes: Doug Dew previously played Larry Roscoe in 1997, and returned as Jack Hastings later in 2000.
