Dairy farmer Cappy Cole lived and worked a few miles from Coff’s Harbour, New South Wales. He and his wife Merle had three children together; Kevin, Bob and Susan. He was successful enough to educate his daughter in a private boarding school but when the recession hit, Susan had to leave, age 16, to help work on the farm and learn house keeping skills. Cappy had three grandchildren by Kevin and a fourth, Sam, was born in 1986 to Susan following her affair with Fred Mitchell.
