John Dye 2001
Occupation: Landlord

When Drew Kirk and his wife, Libby, found a puppy, Audrey, they decided to keep her in their flat, even though their lease forbid any pets in the building. When checking a pile of unopened mail a few days later, they were shocked to read a letter about an inspection, only seven minutes before the landlord was due. Just as they were clearing away any evidence of a dog being on the premises, John Dye arrived for the inspection, and Libby, who had intended to take Audrey to her parents’ place, was forced to hide in the bedroom with the dog under the sheets with her. John immediately mentioned to Drew that he’d received reports of a dog in the flat and he quickly covered, explaining that some of his relatives came to visit with their dog, Wolf. After checking the bedroom, and finding Libby pretending to be ill in bed, John told Drew that he wasn’t a fool and knew they had a dog there. He warned them that he would return and, if he found any evidence of pets, they would all be evicted.
