Comic book artist – and Sky Mangel’s hero – Ted Freisner made a rare public appearance and signing at Lassiter’s hotel. Sky was determined to see the man, who she felt was a pioneer of his genre, and she decided to dress up in a 50s outfit, dragging along her reluctant boyfriend, Dylan Timmins. Also in the queue was Sky’s uncle, David Bishop, but Dylan decided to move up to the front quickly, by calling out that a donut truck had crashed around the corner. The plan got rid of most of the line, including David, and Sky got to meet her hero.
