When Carmella Cammeniti took Celestial Fruits, her father’s old business, she found herself in direct competition with her Uncle Raimondo. Ray had been trying to harm the business, as revenge for Carmella talking his daughter, Teresa, into selling her baby and was determined that she would not make a success of it. When Carmella started undercutting him, Ray convinced the market traders, including Carlo Gresta, to only give her certain products. Realising that she had little other choice, Carmella did a little underhand dealing of her own, and bribed Carlo into helping her, much to Ray’s disgust.
