Sister to Ron, Janet Kirk was a woman not to be messed with. Drew stayed with his formidable aunt Janet when he first moved to the city from Oakey. However, he soon found his new surroundings to be a little noisy and so moved in with his new boss, Lou Carpenter, in Erinsborough. A couple of years later, Drew was engaged to one of his neighbours, Libby Kennedy, who found herself caught up in a Kirk family tradition – sewing a patch onto the quilt. When Janet, along with Drew’s mother, Rose, arrived to see the progress Libby was making, disaster struck. After spilling water on it, Libby had left the quilt drying on the washing line, where the neighbours’ dog, T Rex, got hold of it and dragged it away. Libby was left to face the wrath of the Kirk women, but was relieved when both Rose and Janet revealed their own quilt disasters – tomato sauce and red wine stains.

Notes: Roberta Connelly previously guest-starred in 1989 as Vivean, in 1990 as Julie Cabot and in 1991 as Mrs Huxley. She returned as Betty Sinclair in 2001
