Marcus 2001

Happy hippy Marcus first came to Ramsay Street when he heard about a spare room going at number 30. The residents, Toadie Rebecchi and Joel Samuels, were unimpressed with Marcus’ scruffy appearance and lack of personal hygiene and they were forced to tell him that the room was no longer available. Meanwhile, Flick Scully had been in a relationship with Joel, who was slightly older than her, but her father, Joe, disapproved of the age difference. When Toadie’s cousin, DJ Tad Reeves, was holding a meeting at number 30 with a group of event organisers, Flick met Marcus and decided to show her dad that a guy her own age could be just as bad as one a few years older. She offered to help Marcus with the planning of a gig and took him back to her house to introduce him to her dad. Joe, however, quickly realised what was going on and pretended to be very taken with Marcus and his ideas about eco-friendly building. Without realising that she’d been beaten at her own game, Flick quickly ended her relationship with Marcus.
