When Terese Willis and Jane Harris came up with a plan to take the land used for Erinsborough High - which was planned for closure at the end of the year - and divide it between a downsized school and Terese's planned retirement home, they had to first get their plan past Erinsborough Council. When notoriously conservative councillor Anthony Marin threw his support behind the plan, telling the other councillors that they needed to support it to get it past the Board of Education, Jane and Terese were delighted. The next day, word came through that the council had approved the plan, but the joy was short-lived when it was revealed that Anthony had been in cahoots with Terese's ex-husband, Paul Robinson. Wanting to help Terese, as he was still in love with her, Paul had offered to give Anthony's daughter, Tina, her job back as the manager of the Lassiters Day Spa, if Jane and Terese's plans were passed by the council.
