When Charlie's Bar was sold to new owners, Celeste McIntyre was employed as the manager, though she only visited occasionally as she also managed a number of other bars in the area. When Andrew Robinson approached Celeste about a residency for Red Cotton, the band he was managing, she was impressed when she watched some footage, and agreed to give them a trial for an upcoming Friday and, if it went well, they could have every Friday for the month. She also informed Andrew that the bar policy had changed since she took over, and he would have to provide all of the equipment, but would get half of the money from door sales in return. A few days later, however, Celeste was unimpressed with the ticket sales, and with Andrew only using social media as promotion, and made it clear that if sales didn't improve, she would cancel the gig. However, after some successful concerts, Celeste was suitably impressed and later put Andrew in touch with some contacts to help Red Cotton get gigs in other bars.

A few weeks later, both Kate Ramsay and Tash Williams were looking for work, and approached Celeste about a bar job advertised at Charlie's. Celeste interviewed them, but unable to separate the two girls, asked them to work a trial shift that afternoon. When that still didn't help, she told them that she would give them both two weeks working at the bar, after which she would make her decision. After several dirty tricks from Tash, including planting Kate's ring in a meal, Tash ended up getting the waitressing job, but Celeste was impressed with Kate when she went back and told her of her book-keeping experience, amongst other things, leading Celeste to offer her the manager's job instead.
