When Pacific Bank employee Des Clarke was blamed for the mistakes of bank manager’s son, Greg Arnold, an internal investigation began. Kevin Morgan from head office was called in and interviewed several of the staff, before concluding that bank manager Mr Arnold was the one at fault, for covering up the mistakes of his son. Mr Arnold was fired, and, although he had attempted to resign, Des was called back and made acting manager. A few months later, new manager Philip Martin was brought in and Des was given the job of assistant manager, before being promoted to manage his own branch of Pacific Bank, closer to Ramsay Street.

Notes: Howard Bell returned to Neighbours in 1987 in the recurring role of Erinsborough's Reverend Sampson.
