When Izzy Hoyland’s relationship with Karl Kennedy fell apart, she fled town and returned some weeks later with an addiction to prescription drugs. Her addiction soon led to trouble, as she spent her nights out on the town with complete strangers and ended up agreeing to sell her half of the Scarlet Bar to a man named Dennis Nicholson. He handed her a $1000 cheque as a deposit, but between the club and her house, she managed to lose it. The next day, when Dennis called in at the house she shared with Paul Robinson, she was forced to admit that she couldn’t remember any of the events of the night before and Paul was left to smooth over proceedings. The cheque, meanwhile, was found by local kids Bree, Rachel and Zeke, who were quickly caught out when they tried to bank it.
