After his friend Paul mentioned that he'd heard that there was a chauffeuring job going at Fielding Enterprises, Shane Ramsay, who'd been unemployed for months following an accident that had ended his diving career, put in an application. He was interviewed by John Thompson, who was impressed with Shane and told him that his medical report, which had been a problem in previous interviews, shouldn't hold him back from the driving work. After discussing Shane's previous hopes of an Olympic medal, and the usual questions about hours and pay, Shane was told that he'd got the job, and to report to supplies at 9am the next day to collect his uniform.
