Easy-going Michael Williams arrived in Erinsborough, moving into 32 Ramsay Street with teenage daughter Natasha, to take up the post of Erinsborough High School's new principal. Having previously worked as vice-principal of a rural high school, Michael was a breath of fresh air in Erinsborough, where he insisted that the students refer to him by his first name, and come straight to him with any problems or suggestions on how to improve the school. This laidback approach went down well with many, but teacher, and former Acting Principal, Libby Kennedy was unimpressed and made her feelings clear, leading to several clashes between the two. Michael also soon found problems outside of work, as Natasha got herself some modelling work for local radio station PirateNet, lying on the consent forms that she was over 18, and causing Michael to threaten radio station owner, and new neighbour, Paul Robinson, with legal action.
