Born 3rd November 1988, in Leongatha, west of Melbourne, Victoria, Angus McLaren grew up on his family’s dairy farm. His first taste of acting was appearing in amateur local theatre and school productions. After just one audition, he scored the recurring role of Jason Cassidy in Something In The Air in 2000, at the age of 12 and went on to have minor roles in shows including Worst Best Friends and The Saddle Club, as well as a one-episode Neighbours appearance in 2002 as Michael Toohey.
The following year, Angus returned to Neighbours in a more substantial role, playing Jamie Clarke, the son of original characters Des and Daphne, who hadn’t been seen on the show for 13 years. The role lasted several weeks, and Angus went on to make guest appearances in shows including Fergus McPhail, Blue Heelers and Last Man Standing, as well as appearing in the regular role of Degenhardt Bell in Silversun. Angus currently plays Lewis McCartney on Network Ten’s H2O: Just Add Water.
As well as acting, Angus is also a keen sportsman and the drummer in a rock band named Ballet Imperial.
