Born in Ely, England on 5th October 1967, Guy's family relocated to Geelong, Victoria in Australia when he was three years old. From an early age, Pearce showed a keen interest in music and the performing arts and attended many performances at the Geelong Society of Operatic and Dramatic Arts (GESODA), in time he himself became involved in productions, making his stage debut at age 9 and appearing in several GESODA performances thereafter. As he got older, Pearce also showed an interest in bodybuilding, eventually winning the title of Mr. Natural Victoria, whilst only a teenager.
However his main interest lay in acting, and this finally paid off when he won the role of Mike Young in Neighbours. The show was a smash-hit success, and brought him right into the public eye. He continued the part until 1989, leaving the show to further his career. Making several more appearences on stage in productions such as A Midsummer Night's Dream and later in 1991, Grease. He also found time to star in several other television shows, such as Home and Away and in The Man from Snowy River: The MacGregor Saga, a role during which he met Kate Mestitz. They began dating and were eventually married in 1997.
In 1994, he took a role which would forever change his career, starring as a drag queen in The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. The small, Australian-made film, became a worldwide cult hit, and regarded as a classic. Pearce was beginning to be taken seriously as an actor and it wasn't long before Pearce began seeking roles in Hollywood. In 1997, he starred in the Academy Award nominated L.A. Confidential. The movie was an instant critical and box-office success.
After this, Pearce went on to star in many smaller, independent features but came back to the mainstream in 2000, in the critically-lauded, hit thriller Memento. In the following years, Pearce has went on to star in a number of films such as the big-budget action-adventure, The Time Machine, The Count of Monte Cristo and smaller Australian dramas such as The Proposition. Most recently in 2007, he portrayed legendary artist Andy Warhol in Factory Girl, alongside Sienna Miller.
Besides his film career, Pearce is an avid artist and musician.
