After taking time out to have a family, Melissa Bell is returning to our screens…

Expect to be seeing a lot of former Neighbours star Melissa Bell on your tv screens this year. First, she’ll be sweating it out on the new Nine Network reality series Celebrity Overhaul and then she’ll be returning to Ramsay Street as her former character, Lucy Robinson.

“Everything’s starting again,” says 32-year-old Melissa, whose last appearance on Neighbours was a decade ago. “I’ve taken time out to have my children, and now it’s time to work on myself and get back to a career again.”

The mother of three and stepmother of two is happy to be submitting herself to the strict diet and exercise regime of Celebrity Overhaul before beginning filming for Neighbours.

“Having three children changes your body,” she says. “I think this is great, to get rid of a few extra kilos.”

Melissa doesn’t yet know how Lucy Robinson will be brought back into Neighbours, but she thinks the storyline will involve her on-screen brother Paul, played by Stefan Dennis, who has recently returned to the series. At this stage, she’s only been hired for a few weeks of filming. “But you never know,” she adds optimistically.

“Even though it’s a different cast now, I think the crew are still the same, so it’ll be fun to see a lot of them again.”
