Another Neighbour addresses success on the charts
Neighbours star Stefan Dennis has dropped a bombshell with the news he is releasing a single. The deal, with the Central Station label, was secured under secrecy some time ago and aims at international chart success.
Recording is already complete and the single is expected to go on sale in Australia and England simultaneously. A film clip will be shot before the single is released, probably early next month.
“I’ve been wanting to scream out about the deal for a while now,” an excited Stefan says. “But I’d been instructed to keep things quiet.” Stefan, who plays Paul Robinson in Neighbours, will make a trip to London to coincide with the single’s international release.
He would not divulge the name of the song but said it was an original, penned by his co-producers and writers Russell McKenna and Tony Naylor. While he is excited, Stefan is also expecting criticism. He knows many will assume he is cashing in on his former co-star Kylie Minogue’s recording success, or he has decided that if Jason Donovan can release a single, so can he. But this is far from the truth.
“The initial project has been on the drawing board for nearly two years,” Stefan says. “Now I’m ready to do it.”
