Reference > Erinsborough News > Exit Bouncer, Enter Holly

Perhaps it betrays a loss of interest. Whatever the reason, one of the stars of Neighbours has been dumped with not so much as a whimper from fans.

We are speaking of Bouncer. He has departed the serial with “owner” Toby Mangel (Ben Geurens). Actually, Bouncer did make one brief return to visit an old girlfriend and their new litter. It’s a sad consequence of changing storylines – at least that’s how the Network Ten show’s creators are treating the departure of the pooch who was arguably their least demanding star.

Sceptics might argue that bouncing Bouncer merely continued the odious practice of picking up raw, naďve, young talent and then tossing it aside. There was certainly more than one young pup sitting with his tongue hanging out for the coveted role of neighbourhood dog.

And the one given the nod, and a pat of the head, was Holly. She arrives in the life of Hannah Martin (Rebecca Ritters) who is distraught at losing her two best friends, Toby and Bouncer.
