Neighbours newcomer Ian Williams’ character is set to bring drama, romance and heartache to Ramsay Street.

Ian will make his on-screen debut next month as medical student Adam Willis, completing Ramsay Street’s newest family – father Doug (Terence Donovan), mother Pam (Sue Jones) and little sister Cody (Amelia Frid).

And Adam will be the centre of a love tangle involving three women – Caroline (Gillian Blakeney) and Christina Alessi (Gayle Blakeney) and Melanie Pearson (Lucinda Cowden).

“It’s not the sort of thing that’s usually a problem for me!” he quips. Neighbours is Ian’s first regular television role following his appearance in the horror film Bloodmoon and the telemovie Bony.

Neighbours, he feels, is the perfect vehicle to achieve a depth of knowledge in television. “If you do something well it doesn’t matter if it’s Sesame Street.” Ian says. “I’m not the sort of guy who will outstay his visit on the show but I look at the character and feel confident he’s got a lot of growing to do.”
