One Year Ago - July 2002

Two residents fled from Ramsay Street - one to serve his country, while the other was for an entirely different reason...

• After the dramas with Flick, Stuart joins the navy and meets Ray Milsome, who decides to head to Erinsborough while on leave. Stuart has trouble as he tries to stand up to figures of authority, but soon proves himself worthy

• Susan refuses to believe that she was ever married to someone like Karl, she disappears to find her boyfriend from when she was 16, Craig Benson. Susan's sister, Carmel arrives in order to help Karl with the search. Karl is also questioned by police over her disappearance

• After many arguments and an unexpected kiss, Dee and Toadie finally get together, much to the relief of all their friends

• After realising that he can't read or write, Tahnee blackmails Connor into kissing her, putting a great deal of strain on Michelle and Connor's relationship

• Flick decides she needs to get away from all the problems with Steph and Marc and takes up an offer from Tad to join him for a few weeks on the Extreme Games tour in America

• Summers starts having fainting spells and decides to start faking them to get attention from Drew, who she has a crush on. Karl decides to do some tests after learning that Summer's mother died from heart problems and it is eventually revealed that Summer has Long QT syndrome

• Saxon Garvey and his writer mother, Isabella are revealed as the new tenants of number 32. Harold notices that Isabella never seems to be around and finds out through Dee that Isabella is in the final stages of cancer

• Darcy continues his relationship with Penny, even introducing her to his mother, Carmel. Later in the month, Darcy meets mysterious Sindi and is attracted to her, but later learns that she is Penny's sister

• After an animal blessing at the church, Boyd finds an abandoned fox and starts looking after it in secret and receiving mysterious letters asking him to take care of 'Roxy'




Five Years Ago - July 1998

Karl and Susan's marriage seemed to be beyond saving, while Sarah moved on with her life - only to find herself in the middle of a new nightmare...


• The fallout from Karl's dalliance with Sarah continues as Susan struggles to cope with people gossiping about her in Erinsborough and goes to visit old friend Kim Howard. Billy refuses to talk to Karl about what's happened. Libby prints a newspaper story about the incident, much to the horror of her family

• Hannah believes that everyone has forgotten her birthday and is surprised when she finds all her friends and family waiting at the park, with Karma the horse

• A rivalry kicked off between Anne and Amy as they battled out for the position of school captain in their final year at Erinsborough High. The result is tied and the girls reluctantly agree to share the position

• Sarah gets a job as a nurse at Erinsborough Hospital, but quickly runs into problems with a difficult patient. Later in the month, her stalking nightmare begins when her bag is snatched and she receives a call from the police saying they've found it. She soon realises it wasn't the police calling, but rather someone who wanted her out of the way so they could get into the house

• What Hannah believes is a ghost at number 32 turns out to be Patrick Greenwood who has run away from home. Amy is the only one who knows his whereabouts, as she has been bringing him food

• Lance makes attempts to appear more macho around Amy, but it all goes wrong when he gets stung by a bee, suffers an allergic reaction and almost dies

• When Drew's ex-girlfriend, Shelley and her fiance Ray visit from Oakey, Drew talks Libby into pretending to be his girlfriend, so he can save face




Ten Years Ago - July 1993

An explosion at the Waterhole left one marriage in tatters, while a revelation from the past brought about the end of another...

• A gas explosion destroys the Waterhole and many of the Ramsay Street residents are trapped inside. While Brad and Beth are brought out with relatively minor injuries, Stephen is found in a bad way. Annalise feels guilty about the entire incident as she had earlier smelt gas while at work

• As a result of the accident, Stephen is left paralysed and tells Phoebe that their relationship is over as he couldn't cope with being a burden to her. He decides to leave town to go to a rehabilitation centre, but at the last minute, he realises how much he's throwing away and decides to stay

• Julie goes to find Roger Bannon, her real father. Her search leads her to his son, who comes on too strong with Julie and she also learns that she is the product of a rape, which causes her a great deal of pain. She opts to keep this information to herself and her family are confused by her strange moods. After Phil and Julie decide to separate, he goes on a date with Beth Brennan

• Debbie is befriended by 'Freddo' who is really Darren Stark, an enemy of Michael's from the detention centre who is out for revenge. His mother, Cheryl, also makes her first appearance and makes it her mission to win the heart of Lou Carpenter, by any means necessary

• After the recent traumas of Jim's death and the revelations over Julie's parentage, Helen appears to be turning more and more to alcohol to help her cope

• Brad's gambling problems are beginning to spiral out of control, leading to him moving out of number 28 and in with Lauren and to him pawning the possessions of his friends and family

• The Lim family move out as their house in Eden Hills is finished
