One Year Ago - April 2006

An old favourite moved back to the country, as a Russian moved in to Ramsay Street…

 

• After having DNA tests done on family members as part of one of Bree’s school projects, Kim and Janelle are stunned to learn that she isn’t their biological daughter and there was a mix-up at the hospital when she was born

When they learn that their father has injured his back and one of them needs to go back to Oakey and help with the farm, Stu tells Ned that he’ll leave and, before he goes, he hears from Sindi, who agrees to join him there and give their marriage another try

Harold is shocked to find out that Lou has found himself a Russian girlfriend online and she’s on her way to Australia. When Mishka arrives, she and Lou realise that they both lied about their ages, but the pair soon hit it off and she wins him over with her enthusiasm about a new life in Australia

As Stingray struggles to fit in at university, he turns to alcohol more and more to give him a confidence boost. Dylan, meanwhile, grows concerned at how much time Sky is spending with JP


Desperate not to give the conservative politicians any more ammunition against her, Jenny announces on Sky’s radio show that she and Karl are engaged to be married, much to Karl, and Susan’s, surprise

Robert continues his quest to get rid of everyone Paul is close to. Having made sure that Dylan was blamed for a food poisoning outbreak and fired, Robert then turns up the gas when Izzy is babysitting Charlie, leaving her looking neglectful. At the same time, he starts dating Katya and begins to worry that his growing feelings for her and going to get in the way of his evil plan

Janae and Boyd split up over her jealousy and he takes Sasha to a uni event, while Janae takes Ned to the school formal. After their separate nights out, Boyd and Janae realise that they’re meant to be together and reunite

 

Five Years Ago - April 2002

A car crash, a long-lost father and the return of a Kennedy…

• Matt is challenged to a drag race and, desperate to pay off his debts, he agrees to take part, but Leo wants to take part and jumps into Matt’s car just as the race begins, resulting in a crash. The other driver, Glen, is left in a coma and Matt is charged with reckless driver endangering lives

Harold is also a victim of the crash when he’s clipped by Matt’s car as it crashes. In hospital, he’s diagnosed temporarily blind, and is forced to rely on Lou, further complicating their love triangle with Rosie

Matt’s crash also has a surprising effect on Maggie, who is on the verge of an affair with Toadie. As she realises that her family needs her, it becomes clear that, to keep Matt out of prison, they’ll need to hire an expensive QC and possibly sell their home in Ramsay Street

Elly finally meets the man she believes to be her real father, Ian Conway, but is shocked when he admits that Liz told him that Karl was actually he dad

Stuart’s ex-fiancee, Tracey Slattery, turns up in Erinsborough, wanting him to give her a second chance. He, however, sends her packing as he has started seeing Dee

Mal Kennedy returns to town, having made a big success of himself with international coffee chain Cuppa Diem. Although at first it seems he’s just there to see the family, it turns out that he’s also in town to try and convince Harold to sell the Coffee Shop to him

A friend of Jack Scully’s, Connor O’Neill, arrives from the UK and explains that Jack told him that he could stay with the Scully family. They agree to let him stay and Michelle soon develops a crush on him

 


Ten Years Ago - April 1997

A Ramsay Street newcomer turned Ruth’s life upside-down…

 

• Mysterious Ben Atkins arrives in Ramsay Street and immediately responds to an ad looking for someone to share the rent at number 30, paying close attention to the Wilkinsons at number 32 as he does so

Joanna gets back in touch with Rob in London, and is shocked when he sends her a plane ticket, leaving that night. After thinking things through and speaking to her friends, she realises that she has to seize the moment and leaves

Marlene proves to be a huge headache for Karl as his new receptionist as she has some leaflets made up with the words ‘satisfaction guaranteed’ on them, leaving Karl open to be sued by anyone he can’t treat

Toadie meets uni student Rebecca Knotts and, after learning that she’s 19, he pretends to be older so that she’ll go out with him. Also pretending to be the manager of Lou’s pub, he soon struggles to keep up the pretence

After finally getting together, Billy accidentally calls Anne ‘Melissa’ then starts to get jealous as she spends more and more time with new neighbour Ben

When Anne finally confronts Ben over her feelings for him, he explains that they can’t be a couple, as he’s her brother. Ruth is stunned to realise that Ben is the baby she gave up for adoption as a teenager, and Anne and Lance are equally shocked to learnt that they have a half-brother

After receiving unwanted attention behind the bar from cricket captain Guy Fisher, Sarah gives him a piece of her mind and, when Lou refuses to stand up for her, she quits her job

Twenty Years Ago - April 1987

Figures from the past haunted more than one Ramsay Street resident…

• Paul and Gail start to grow close again after working together at the Daniels Corporation but a dinner date is rudely interrupted when Gail’s estranged husband Jeremy Lord arrives

Daphne’s estranged father, Allen Lawrence, gets in touch but, despite Des’ best efforts to reunite them, Daphne wants nothing to do with him, and her fears about him having an ulterior motive are revealed when it turns out that he is simply looking to Daphne’s unborn child for a male heir to his empire

Helen paints Mrs Mangel’s portrait, but Nell is horrified by the end result and refuses to take it. Helen’s confidence takes another knock when an American art investor rubbishes her work, so Paul decides to try and help by sending the Mrs Mangel portrait to be entered for a prestigious art award

Henry tries to get back together with Jane and kisses her, but it only makes her realise that she loves Mike and wants to be with him instead

Rob finds a couple of investors for his garage in the form of Jim and Harold, but it soon becomes clear that, rather than being a silent investor, Harold wants to help in the day to day running of the garage

Henry starts seeing Sue Parker, much to the horror of Charlene, who remembers what she was like at high school. Sue tries to prove that she’s changed since then, and also finds herself work as a teller at Pacific Bank

Charlene accepts a mechanic job at Rob’s garage and, after deciding that she should become more independent, moves out of home and into the caravan at Lassiter’s. She also decides to split up with Warren as his drinking gets more out of control and reunites with Scott
