One Year Ago - March 2006

A dramatic birth and the arrival of Ramsay Street’s scariest resident ever…

 

• With Max still away, Steph suddenly goes into labour and it’s a race against time for Boyd to collect his dad and sister at the airport and get them to the hospital. Steph gives birth to baby Charlie with everyone present, but is rushed into emergency surgery to remove her tumour immediately afterwards

Paul’s son, Cameron, arrives in Ramsay Street, hoping to get to know his father. What both Paul and Elle don’t realise is that it’s actually his evil identical twin Robert, who has left Cam in a coma and come to Ramsay Street to get revenge on his father for what he perceives as being abandoned as a baby

Following Susan’s advice, Karl gets back in touch with Jenny, and assures her that he’s come to terms with his feelings for his ex-wife and is ready to move on, so he and Jenny become a couple again

Zeke continues to refuse to speak following Alex’s death, and admits to Katya that he’s scared to say anything in case it causes him to lose Susan too. His resolve is finally tested when Rachel is electrocuted and he needs to call an ambulance


Janae becomes jealous when Boyd starts his medical degree and befriends fellow student Sasha. Both Janelle and Janae try to warn Sasha off, but this only succeeds in pushing her and Boyd closer together and he confides in her about the problems at home with Steph

Sky quickly clashes with her new art lecturer Jean Pierre Valasco, but she manages to stay up all night and produce work that proves her worthy of his course. The pair then start to grow closer as they bond over their shared artistic streak

Although she learns some interesting facts about Katya’s past which she could use against her, Susan opts to keep the truth to herself and decides to pull out of the custody battle and allow Rachel and Zeke to move in with their sister

 

Five Years Ago - March 2002

A christening and a mysterious new neighbour for Libby and Drew…

• Libby and Drew have Ben christened, by Erinsborough vicar Rosie Hoyland, who quickly catches the eye of both Lou and Harold

Mysterious Terri Hall moves into the flat above Libby and Drew and, after seeing her coming and going at all hours of the day, they begin to suspect that she’s up to something illegal. It later emerges that Terri is actually an undercover police officer on a drugs operation

Steph grows closer and closer to newcomer Marc Lambert, whose parents have bought Lassiter’s hotel and appointed him as assistant manager. Meanwhile, Flick scores a job at the hotel and also grows close to Marc, little realising that he’s her sister’s new boyfriend

Joe is unsettled when his father, Pat, pays a surprise visit, and, despite the rest of the family enjoying having him around, Joe doesn’t trust his dad. Before he leaves, Pat has a heart-to-heart with his son and admits that maybe he was wrong to take his anger out on his kids, and, once his father has gone, Joe opens up to his family about the physical abuse he suffered as a child

Darcy finally realises that Serena has been conning him and was using her position as surgery receptionist to steal prescription pads and sell them on

Toadie’s crush on Maggie intensifies as the pair work closely together as article clerks at Keith Cox & Associates. Realising that he can’t deny his feelings any longer, Toadie considers quitting his job to get away from the temptation

Stuart decides to ask Dee out on a date, but when he suddenly changes his mind, she finds out that he’s been sleeping at the garage after being thrown out of Libby and Drew’s flat, and she offers him the couch at number 30

 


Ten Years Ago - March 1997

The first of the Kennedy children flew the nest, and they didn’t leave alone…

 

• After Catherine and Darren’s kiss, Mal decides that he has nothing left to keep him in Erinsborough and makes plans to leave for Europe and travel the world. Cath desperately tries to convince him to stay, before racing to the airport and announcing that she’s going to go with him

Darren, meanwhile, tries to win Libby back by proposing marriage and, although she considers it, she ultimately turns him down, realising that she can’t trust him, resulting in Darren going off the rails again

Country boy Tim Buckley starts at Erinsborough High and stays with the Martin family. Although he has some extra tuition from Lisa, he ends up falling for Susan and rumours about them quickly spread around the school

Lou offers to help Karl find a new car for Susan, and manages to get one for $2500 on the sly, offering to sell it to Karl for $5000. Having bought the car, Lou is shocked when Karl gets one elsewhere, though Lou has the last laugh when Karl’s car is repossessed

After weeks of problems, including his jealousy over her close friendship with Justin, Billy and Anne finally share a kiss and become a couple, though they’re soon banned from seeing each other after Anne hands in a copied essay and finds herself in trouble

Despite the misgivings of their children, Ruth and Phil also take steps towards a relationship, though Phil manages to split his trousers on their date

Lisa is hurt when she becomes the victim of several pranks from her new students, including some nasty cartoons of her, and shoe polish on her bike seat

Twenty Years Ago - March 1987

A couple of original characters left the street as an old flame walked back into Paul’s life…

• After accusing Henry of stealing money from him, which later turns up in his overall pockets, Shane decides that it’s time to move out of the Ramsay house and goes to stay in the Lassiter’s caravan

Lucy also says her goodbyes, as she packs up and heads to Europe to spend an extended holiday with Jack, Andrea and Bradley

After advertising for an events manager at Lassiter’s, Paul is surprised when one of the applicants is his old airline boss, Gail Lewis. Paul and Gail quickly hit it off once again and it’s clear that the old spark is still there. Gail also reveals that her father, Rob Lewis, is the owner of a local garage

Harold decides to stick around in Erinsborough and make a go of his relationship with Madge, but opts to rent a room from Mrs Mangel rather than live in sin. After much thought, Harold decides that he can’t face losing Madge again and proposes to her

Mike is stunned to learn that his father has died from a heart attack and decides to move back home and help his mum., Barbara. She, however, announces plans to use the inheritance and sell the house to go travelling around the world

Jim and Des get competitive following a card game, which leads to the street splitting into two teams and holding a mini-Olympics, but, when Charlene drops the baton during her leg, a huge fight breaks out over the rules. Des and Jim decide to have their own, two-man, race, which also ends badly when Des nearly drowns

Mrs Mangel sells the story about Paul’s relationship with his secretary, Susan Cole, to a journalist, and loses her job in the process
