• Josh and Amber sleep together for the first time
• Susan hides her MS relapse from Karl
• Paul reveals Susan's relapse during his election speech

Charlie's: Karl confirms with Susan that she's having a relapse, and she explains that it's just a mild one. He decides that they should leave, but first goes over to Paul and accuses him of being callous, but Paul believes that the voters have the right to know if a candidate won't have the time to dedicate to them, and points out that he was only telling the truth. Karl declares that all bets are off, then he and Susan leave. At the bar, Sheila tells Paul that he's reached an all-time low, but he's unapologetic and walks away grinning.

No 28: Karl tells Susan that she should have been honest with him - she explains that she tried, but his campaign always got in the way. She tells him that the new medication is working, but she has no idea how Paul found out. She explains that she had to tell Kate, as she was unwell at school and Kate helped her, but she knows that she should have told Karl too. He says that he would have been there for her, had he known, but they're interrupted by a phone call from the newspaper, wanting a comment from Karl on Paul's announcement that evening. Susan insists that he should take the call.

No 22 - Back Garden: The next morning, Brad and Terese are discussing Susan's health and the callous way Paul went about exposing her relapse. Terese says that she hopes it all blows up in his face and people see what he's really like. Josh then appears with the camera for Amber - his parents think it's a little OTT as a gift, but he says that she's worth it. He gets a text from Ruby, which he isn't too happy about, but Brad reminds him that without the sponsorship, he wouldn't be able to afford such lovely gifts for his girlfriend. Terese then has to leave for work, and Brad tells her to try not to kill Paul.

Charlie's: Terese is finishing up a meeting, and Paul calls over to her and asks her to get him a coffee. She storms over and says that she'd rather throw a coffee all over him, as what he did last night was disgusting. She tells him that, if she had the proof, she'd happily expose him and his dodgy developer mates, and she's realised that he only wants to be mayor to 'feather his own nest'. He reminds her that, as major, he'll be answerable to the council, and that he only did this so that he can give back to the community. He mentions Jack Lassiter and the way that he inspired him, and asks Terese to give him the benefit of the doubt. Terese isn't falling for it, and says that she knows Paul and that his view is that the ends always justify the means.

Harold's Store: Terese bumps into Susan, and complains about how she's already having a terrible day, thanks to Paul. She mentions that she's impressed by how well Susan seems to be taking it - Susan says that it's easier now that she doesn't have to work with Paul everyday, unlike poor Terese. She admits that, as well as taking away her right to privacy, Paul's announcement also made things quite tense at home and now Karl is fielding calls from the media and people who are viewing Paul as a hero for his new health initiative. As Susan leaves, Terese tells her that she's there, if there's anything she can ever do to help.

No 28: As Susan returns home, Karl tells her that he wants to apologise for last night - he was in shock and he was scared, as he can't always cope with the thought of her suffering. He agrees that he's been too focussed on his campaigning, and that he should have noticed her troubles. She admits that she was being selfish too, as she was hoping that they'd reached a stage in life where they could start slowing down and spending more time together, rather than being thrust into the spotlight again. Karl wishes that she'd said something, but tells her that he's decided to pull out of the mayoral race. Susan is surprised and a little pleased, but makes sure that he isn't going to resent her for it later - he insists that he won't, and they hug.

No 22 - Back Garden: Josh, with his hands over her eyes, guides Amber to her gift and she's completely shocked by how much he's spent on her. She insists that she can't accept the camera, but he says that he used his sponsorship money, and if wants to spoil his girlfriend then nobody's going to stop him. As an excited Amber starts assembling the camera, Josh gets a call from Ruby, which he rejects. Amber asks why he didn't wait until Christmas to give it to her, and why he didn't just give her a bottle of perfume - he explains that he was just so happy to be back with her and couldn't wait to see the look on her face.

Lassiter's Hotel - Reception: Terese spots Sheila and asks why she isn't setting up the staff Christmas party - Sheila says that she was intending to, but they seem to be holding some kind of mayoral function for Paul. Terese is furious and calls Paul, who's just outside - she goes out and tells him that the conference room was already booked, and he needs to get his people out of there. He tells her that it would be upsetting a lot of important people, but Terese thinks that the hotel's staff are more important. He also reminds her that she's nowhere near the targets in her contract and she should consider raising people's rents, or pushing the staff to work harder instead of throwing parties for them. He smugly says that she'll soon he out of a job, and walks away.

Charlie's: Terese is telling Brad about her problems with Paul, and how he's attempting to undermine her with everyone. She says that she's considering walking away, as she isn't sure how much more she can take, but Brad reminds her that she's well-respected and she's worked hard to earn that respect. He says that he and the kids wouldn't have moved their lives across the country for her, if they didn't believe in her, so although they'll support her if she decides to quit, he thinks that she should have a little more faith in herself, and realise that she can fight just as hard as Paul. Terese then thanks him, as his little pep talk has given her an idea.

No 22 - Back Garden: Amber and Josh are kissing, and he's ignoring messages on his phone - she says that she understands what he said earlier about being happy that they're back together, but she still feels like there's more to it. She wonders if it might be his way of saying thank you for them sleeping together for the first time, and it makes her feel a little bit cheap. He insists that he loves her and wants to be generous, and she says that she's sorry for being silly. Terese then comes outside, on the phone to someone, thanking them for their help. She declares that that's Paul dealt with, though Josh has no idea what she's talking about, and he and Amber sneak off.

No 28: Susan is explaining to Sheila that she didn't want to tell Karl in the middle of his campaigning, but Sheila thinks that sounds like an excuse. Susan admits that maybe she was also in denial, as she'd been well for so long and she hoped that if she carried on with the medication, the disease might not come back. She admits that she was scared, and Sheila says that she can't imagine how it feels, as she's barely been ill a day in her life - her own marriage was full of ups and downs, but they pulled through. Susan admits that she thought she wanted Karl to pull out of the campaign, but now she's not so sure. Sheila simply tells her that life can't stop because things get bad - you've just got to manage the bad days, and make the most of the good ones.

No 22 - Back Garden: Josh and Amber wake up, and he says that he'll go and get them some food. As he walks away, his phone, which is still on the chair, beeps again and Amber asks who keeps texting him. She manages to grab the phone before he does, and he chases her around the garden, but she sees the text which reads 'Need to talk about the kiss. Call me.' Amber demands to know what it means, and Josh says that Ruby came onto him, but it didn't mean anything. Amber asks if it happened before they slept together, and he confirms that it did, but then admits that it was the same day. Amber realises that the camera was given to her out of guilt - she throws his phone down and walks away.

Charlie's: Susan finds Karl, drafting a letter explaining why he's pulling out of the campaign. She's glad to have caught him in time, and asks him why he wanted to be mayor in the first place - he says that he wanted to help people in the community, and he wants to beat Paul Robinson. She then asks why he's pulling out, and he says that it's so he can support her. Susan points out that they can't allow her MS to rule their lives, and people will understand if she can't be with him at every public event, but that isn't a good enough reason to let Paul become mayor.

Lassiter's Hotel - Reception: Terese tells Paul that she's rescheduled the staff Christmas party - he asks where she's been all afternoon, and she explains that she took some time out, to reconsider her position at the hotel. She says that she's realised that dealing with him has been getting in the way of doing her job, so she's decided to call in the big guns - Lucy is on her way to deal with him.
