No 24 - Kitchen: Maria tells Max he is acting like a kid over the boys not trusting him with what they are up to. Danny followed by Shane arrive for breakfast and Max continues to taunt about their big secret. Shane asks his father to stop but Max demands his right to know. The boys offer to tell him but Max storms off. Maria however wants to know and Shane admits he & Danny have been just diving training to prove to Max that Danny can do it. Maria bursts into laughter.

No 28 - Kitchen/dining table/doorway: Eileen drinks her tea in silence with Daphne around the house. As Daphne goes to leave she sees a note under the door and is upset to see another poison pen letter about her. Eileen however has no sympathy and tells her she should think about leaving the street after all the ‘harm’ she’s done. Daphne asks what she means and Eileen brutally tells her she has damaged Des’s reputation and should go back to the ‘gutter’ where she belongs. Daphne senses Eileen knows more than she’s saying about the smear campaign and defiantly tells her she won’t give in to people like her before leaving the house.

Ramsay Street: Paul sees Daphne is upset and she explains she has received another note plus a barrage of abuse from Eileen. Daphne doubts that even Eileen is behind the smear campaign and they are interrupted by Carol on her way to visit Eileen at No 28. Carol only greets Paul as she passes.

No 28 - Kitchen: Carol listens as Eileen tells how she and Daphne had words earlier and she feels like she needs to return to Perth. Carol tells her that she mustn’t as they could find something in their civil liberties to get rid of Daphne. Eileen explains she has already looked into it and Daphne has done nothing wrong according to the law. Carol mentions she spoke to Julie who commented on how she didn’t understand Des liking Daphne – Eileen blames it on Des acting like all other men do around strippers and comments on how Daphne is performing at the Ferndale Anglers Club later. Carol thinks it is only time before Ramsay Street is as infamous as St. Kilda & Kings Cross.

No 24 - Kitchen/lounge: Maria greets Jim & Helen for dinner while Max takes a shower. Helen is grateful for having someone else cook for her. Max appears but doesn’t seem happy, reflecting on how Shane & Danny are hiding things from him. Maria reveals that Shane is training Danny to dive but Max is still unhappy saying Danny could never win a competition. Jim calls him unfair and they all joke about having a great evening. Max is not amused.

No 26 - Kitchen: Paul is preparing a snack when Des arrives seeking refuge from home. Des & Paul agree that Eileen could be the poison pen letter writer and Des decides to go home and sort things out rather than allow Daphne to continue to be hurt.

No 28 - Lounge: Des arrives home to find Eileen eating chocolates, & relaxing after cleaning the house and she makes reference to the place being dirty because of Daphne. Des warns his mother to stop blaming Daphne for everything when unexpectedly arrives home. Furious she explains someone called in a hoax bomb threat at the Ferndale Anglers club and so didn’t get paid. Daphne tells them the police mentioned the caller who made the threat was a woman and Eileen conveniently decides to go to bed. Daphne tells Des whether Eileen is behind the smear campaign or not, she is going to look for somewhere else to live.

No 24 - Lounge: Helen is reading when she is interrupted by Mrs Armitage who just walks into the house claiming that her husband is having an affair with a woman who works in the city at a newsagents and wants a divorce. Helen is embarrassed as Mrs Armitage reveals she knew her husband was being unfaithful due to the lack of a sex life. Helen suggests a divorce could make her a lot happier but Mrs. Armitage fears being single could make her a sex object as she claims Jim & Max look at her in that way. When Mrs Armitage mentions the poison pen letters she’s received too Helen is speechless as she comments on how she too would take all her clothes of to be desired by men if she were Daphne’s age. After she leaves, Helen sits down exhausted.

. . .

Squat: Scott arrives to find Kim in a room. Kim asks after the money and eagerly snatches it from Scott. Scott begs her to come home with him but she angrily tells him she has no desire to go anywhere where she is told what and when to do it. Scott tells her he really likes her still but is confused when Kim offers to have sex with him in return. Scott decides to leave.

. . .

No 26 - Lounge: Jim and Helen are playing draughts as Paul reads when Scott returns and visibly upset reveals he’s been to see Kim. Jim mentions about the fact he forbid him to but Scott assures them he’s never going back as Kim has changed. Scott tells Paul he’ll pay him back the money he owes. Paul is uncomfortable as he realises Jim & Helen now know he gave Scott the money he wanted.

No 28 - Lounge/Kitchen: Des arrives home to boldly tell Eileen he has rented her a unit just over an hour away from him by bus as he knows she cannot return to Perth and he doesn’t want her living with him. Eileen blames Daphne and Des demands to know if she is behind the smear campaign. Eileen denies it but Des can see she knows who is. Eileen admits it is Carol Brown. Des decides to take Eileen across to her new home before dealing with Carol.

No 24 - Lounge: Maria switches off the TV to talk to Max and gives him a kiss. Shane & Danny speak up and tell him they entered Danny in the local swimming championship and Danny won. Danny hands over his winner’s trophy to Max who is not pleased.

. . .

No 28 - Lounge/kitchen: Des tells Daphne she does not have to move out as he has moved his mother out as of tonight. Des opens the door to find Carol Brown as he asked. Daphne leaves and Des orders Carol to sit down. Des smells alcohol but Carol denies it. Des demands to know is she is behind the smear campaign and Carol doesn’t deny it claiming it was all worth it – Des tells her she is as bad as the person she makes Daphne out to be and if she does anything further he’ll go to the police! Carol runs from the house in tears and Des slams the door after her. (unseen in UK – Des looks back to see Eileen has witnessed the whole thing)
