Recap
• Daphne arrives late to the wedding, to find that Des has already gone

No 26/No 24: Helen and Zoe are trying to comfort Daphne, and to get her to open up about what's happened. Daphne then asks Zoe to go to number 28 and pack up all of her things, as she's decided that she'll never be setting another foot in that house again. Helen thinks it's a bit hasty, but Zoe agrees to go, leaving just as Paul arrives back with the news that Des is nowhere to be found. Daphne says that Des isn't worth looking for, and that any normal man would have realised something serious had happened when the entire bridal party didn't show up. Paul admits that he had his doubts too, and Daphne is furious with him and asks Helen if she can go somewhere quiet. Just then, the phone rings - it's Shane, asking if there's any news on Des. Paul says that there isn't, and says that he heard that the Wharfdale Bank was held up today by three men dressed as gorillas. Shane realises that the man who hijacked his limo must have been one of them, and says that he can't believe Des really thought that Daphne had deliberately stood him up. Paul defends Des, but they both agree that the main thing is that they go out and find him. As Shane hangs up, Madge asks him if he got a good look at the man who hijacked them - Shane says that he was wearing a gorilla mask, and that he's already told all of this to the police. Shane prepares to go out to look for Des, and so Madge turns her questioning to Max, who says that the guy was waving a gun around. Madge is alarmed, and wonders why Shane let the man in the car in the first place - Shane explains that he thought it was Danny, which only leaves Madge and Max even more confused. Shane is then forced to tell them that Danny has been working for Clive, and Max immediately assumes that Clive must have had something to do with the armed robbery. Madge then says that it's Eileen she feels sorry for in all of this...

No 28: Zoe finds Eileen looking through the other three wedding dresses that Daphne rejected - she says that it was an omen, each dress representing a woman who stood Des up at the altar. Zoe says that it's a shame that Des will be all alone in this house, and Eileen declares that she'll have to move in and look after him. Jim then arrives, to give Zoe a hand with Daphne's stuff, and he says hello to Eileen, who says that she hasn't heard a thing from Des, and he could be dead for all she knows. Jim says that he probably just needs some time alone - and Zoe says that they'd probably have heard by now if Des had done something drastic!

No 24: One of Shane's bosses, Mr Sanderson, turns up wanting to know why his business lunch was interrupted with the news that Shane's limo had been involved in an armed robbery. He asks if Shane was involved, and Shane explains that he was on his way to a wedding - Mr Sanderson wonders whether Shane had permission to use the car for a personal outing, and Shane tells him that Mrs Fielding never used to mind. He asks for all of the details, and Max, Madge and Shane proceed to tell him what happened - Mr Sanderson says that he recalls a similar incident in which one of the drivers used his limo to take his girlfriend to the beach, and he ended up getting sacked.

Park: Des wanders over to a park bench and sits down, shaking his head.

No 26: Daphne asks Helen if she knows of a charity that would like a barely used wedding dress, though Helen suggests that she might like to try to get her money back, with Zoe chiming in that Daphne will need all the money she can get now. Daphne admits that she's still worried about Des, and Jim says that he must have hitched a ride out of town, as nobody's seen him. He adds that Daphne is welcome to stay with the Robinsons for as long as she needs to, but Zoe then suggests that she could take Clive's spare room, as he'd probably be glad to have the extra rent. She also reminds Daphne that she still owns some of the furniture at number 28, and she'll gladly act as a go-between to arrange the sale, if Des ever comes back.

No 28: Madge calls by to visit Eileen, who's very pleased to see a friendly face. Madge talks about how Shane is likely to lose his job over the whole thing too, and Eileen says that Daphne was the best of the women that Des almost married. She confides in Madge about the Clarke curse, and how one of her ex-husband's ancestors, Eli Clarke, was cursed during the convict days. Madge says that most Australian men, including her husband, seem to be cursed - Eileen is surprised to hear about Madge's marital problems, and says that she's glad to have gotten to know her recently.

Park/No 28: Des goes into a phonebox to make a call. At the house, Eileen is telling Madge about some of Des's past women, when the phone rings. Eileen answers and is very relieved to hear Des's voice, but he then tells her that he isn't coming home as he's too embarrassed to face everyone. Eileen again blames the Clarke curse, but Des says that's a load of rubbish, and everyone he loves leaves him. Eileen says that Daphne didn't, and that she turned up at the church only a few minutes after he left - Des is stunned and hangs up the phone, realising what an idiot he's been.

No 24: As a police car pulls up outside, Max is inside on the phone, getting advice from a solicitor about whether Shane can legally be sacked. Shane is disappointed to hear that they'd be within their rights to get rid of him. Sergeant Harris then knocks on the door and introduces himself, explaining that he heard some story down at the station about a gorilla hijacking Shane's car. The sergeant says that they're aware that Danny has had a few run-ins with the law and that he's currently dressing as a gorilla. Max can't believe that the police think that Danny was involved in the robbery, but Sergeant Harris explains that Danny is already down at the station along with Clive, who is dressed as a chicken.

No 24: A bit later, Daphne is apologising to Shane for everything, but he says that he could never blame her for any of this. She starts to cry, and Shane comforts her and says that he never used to believe in marriage - Daphne asks what he's talking about, and he says that he's glad that the wedding's off. Daphne says that she hopes he isn't implying that he wants to marry her, as she'll never degrade herself like that again. She tells him that she values their friendship though, and then walks out.

No 28: Eileen has finished packing up the spare dresses, and Zoe and Paul come over with Daphne's wedding dress to go with the others. Eileen says that she's relieved to know that Des is alright, but wishes that she knew where he was. She says that she'll never be able to set foot in that church again, and wonders why these things always seem to happen to Des. She then asks them to lock up the house and says that she's going back to her unit, just in case Des goes there. Once Eileen's gone, Paul goes to start gathering up Daphne's things from the bathroom, and returns to find Zoe fantasising about her own wedding and home. She admits to Paul that she'd be happy to go without the wedding, but she would have to love the guy. Paul tells her that love is nothing but a con, and that the only girl he'll be getting involved with is one who's just looking for a good time.

No 26/Police Station: Jim and Helen feel a little guilty as they laugh about Eileen chasing Des down the aisle, trying to change his mind about leaving. Zoe and Paul then return with Daphne's belongings, and Zoe tells Helen that Eileen has gone home and she's still convinced that Des and Daphne are perfect for each other. Paul mocks Zoe and her romantic notions, but Jim says that it's a shame Paul has to be so cynical. An argument breaks out, but is interrupted by a phone call from Max, who asks if Jim can come down to the police station. Jim assumes that it's to help with Danny, but we then see that Max is handcuffed to a police officer.

Park: Des is still wandering around - he walks up onto a bridge, watched by a tramp.

No 24: Jim and Madge are still amazed by the way Max behaved at the police station, and relieved that he didn't get charged with assault. Jim says that Helen wants everyone to go over to the Robinson house for something to eat - Max is reluctant to go, but Madge thinks that some decent food will make him feel a lot better about things.

No 26: Zoe, Daphne and Helen are preparing to start on the wedding breakfast, as Jim, Shane, Max and Madge come in the front door. Everyone is talking across each other, about the wedding fiasco and Danny still being at the police station, when Nikki arrives, reminding Helen that she invited her over. Helen quietens everyone down and introduces her niece, as Paul tells Nikki that she's arrived just in time for the wedding breakfast. Nikki offers her congratulations, and Paul enjoys stirring things up. Nikki then asks where the groom is, and Daphne says that's a very good question.

Bridge: Des takes the flower out of his buttonhole and throws it into the water below. The tramp then comes over and says that, if Des is planning to jump, could he first hand over the suit and the watch. Des looks disgusted and walks away.
