Recap
• Daphne is furious as Paul says that he doesn't blame Des for walking out
• A tramp asks Des if he's thinking about jumping off the bridge
• Max learns that Danny and Clive are being questioned over the armed robbery

No 24: Madge rolls her eyes, as Max and Danny come into the kitchen arguing with each other. Danny says that he's sorry, and Madge asks her brother to stop shouting, but Max continues to rant about how Danny has been in cahoots with Clive, ruined Daphne's wedding and now Shane is probably going to lose his job. Danny says that he was just trying to earn some extra money and that he got less of a hard time at the police station, whilst Madge points out that Shane is hardly blameless, as he should have asked before using the limo for the wedding. Max walks out, and Madge sympathises with Danny, who says that he doesn't feel like any breakfast. He manages to persuade Madge to phone in sick for him, then says that he'll try to eat something, smiling to himself as Madge goes back into the kitchen.

No 26: Helen and Jim are chatting about Clive - Helen thinks there's more to him than just a clown who dresses up as a chicken, but Jim tells her not to let Max hear her say that, as he's clearly still furious with Danny. Jim is about to leave when the phone rings - Helen answers and it's Scott, who tells her that the school trip's been cut short, so he'll be home later that day. She passes this news on to Jim, who's delighted that things will almost be back to normal, but Helen isn't quite so sure and says that there might be something wrong.

No 24: As Danny finishes his breakfast, Madge is on the phone behind him, telling the bank that he should be well again by the next day, but clearly not fooled by Danny's act. She then tells Danny that he's going to have to end his association with Clive Gibbons, as his position at the bank holds a certain amount of prestige, and he can't be seen to be getting involved in criminal acts. She sends Danny off to bed, telling him again to take a long look at his priorities.

Ramsay Street: Max is loading up his van when Clive returns home after his night in jail. He wishes Max a good morning, but Max tells him that he should move out of the street, so everyone can just get back to normal. Max warns that if Clive gets Danny mixed up in any more of his stupid schemes, then he'll run him out of town himself. Clive then starts walking over to the Ramsay house.

No 24: Madge has been watching from the window, and goes to answer when Clive knocks on the door. She apologises to him, but says that he isn't really welcome at the house after everything that's happened. She says that she's reluctantly taking Max's side in all of this and she'll have to reconsider her position as his secretary too. Clive says that he understands, and as the police have impounded all of his costumes, he's out of business now anyway. She asks if he wants to speak to Danny, but he steps inside and says that he actually needs to talk to her - he says that there was a young guy at the police station who'd been waiting for his trial, but it was postponed and he was taken back to the remand centre - he says that his name was Henry, and Madge's face drops. Clive says that when Henry overheard him giving his address, he asked that he pass on a message to Madge - no more calls and no more visits. Clive then says that now the message has been passed on, he intends to forget that they ever had this conversation. Clive goes to leave, but then Madge tells him that Henry is her son.

. . .

No 26: Jim wants to call the school and find out what's going on, but Helen says that Scott asked them not to do that. Helen says that they should at least give Scott the chance to explain things first, and Jim leaves, saying that he'll come and collect her later before they go to the bus station. Helen calls after him that she might not be home later, as she has to be somewhere else, but Jim doesn't hear her.

No 24: Madge is telling an uncomfortable Clive about how hard she tried with her children, and how much she worried about them. She explains that Henry is taking the blame for other people's parts in this whole mess - not that it excuses what he did. She starts to cry as she says that she loves her son, and now he won't even see her. Clive says that he hopes it all works out for her, and that he's only next-door if she needs him.

No 26: Helen answers the door to Burt Rawlings, the private investigator, who says that he's found Douglas Blake - he's staying at the Regal Hotel. He says that, everyday, Douglas meets a woman in the park next to the hotel. Helen thanks him and quickly ushers him out the front door, saying that she'll send him a cheque.

No 26: A bit later, Nikki arrives, with her friend, Jane Hughes. They talk about a test they had to do earlier, and how one of the teachers, Miss Brannigan, is a bit too heavy on the discipline - but Jane says that she's spoken to her father, so the teacher won't be around next term. Helen looks a little taken aback, and goes to arrange some morning tea for them. Jane looks around the house, as though it's not quite good enough for her, and asks Nikki about the photograph of Paul - Nikki says that he used to work for an airline and he loved to travel. Jane remarks that she enjoys travel too, but only first class. Nikki says that she and mummy can only travel in the summer, as she's so tied up with committees and so forth. Helen walks in and overhears this - she puts down the tea tray and says that she has to go and visit Madge, but she and Nikki will be having a long talk when she gets back.

Ramsay Street: Danny runs out of the Ramsay house and across the garden to Clive's front door.

No 22: Clive lets Danny in, and says that he hasn't been charged, but they've kept the costumes as evidence. Danny tries to find out if he's still going to get paid, but Clive rushes around like a whirlwind, saying that this is an opportunity to start a new business, and wondering if garden gnomes are due to make a comeback. He then goes to start making some phone calls, telling Danny that as soon as the next venture is up and running, he'll be back on the payroll.

. . .

No 24: Helen is telling Madge about her planned trip to town, and asking if she could join her, when Danny walks in. Madge reminds her nephew that he should be resting, and Helen tells him that Scott is due home this afternoon. Madge suggests that Danny should go and invite Nikki and her friend over for a swim - Danny walks out, saying that 'Princess Di and one of her stuck-up schoolmates' is just what he needs right now. Madge then tells him that she'll go with her into town, as long as she gets an explanation about why it's all so important to Helen.

No 26: Nikki explains to Jane that Danny lives next-door, and that it's a shame that you can't pick your neighbours. Jane asks Danny if he's on the dole, and he says that actually he works at the bank. Nikki asks why he isn't there now, wondering if they sacked him after his night in jail, but he says that he has the day off. Jane wants to know more about his night in jail, and he says that he was dressed as a gorilla, when someone else, also dressed as a gorilla, robbed a bank. He wonders why the girls are picking on him, and says that he only came over to invite them for a swim. Jane and Nikki decide that they'd quite like to go for a swim, and they go to get changed.

Park: Madge and Helen are in the car, looking out over the park, and Madge reports that it's almost midday. She wonders what they'll do if Douglas doesn't turn up, and Helen says that she'll just have to cut her losses and they can go and have lunch. Just then, she spots Douglas in the rear view mirror, meeting up with a woman. Madge looks over at him and says that he seems very respectable. Helen admits that she once thought the same thing, but now she's going to make him pay.

No 24: As Nikki and Jane come in from their swim, Danny is making a mess as he tries to prepare some food for them. Jane immediately complains about the lack of whole egg mayonnaise, and real fruit juice, as well as Danny's choice of music. She also complains that the street is 'like a morgue' and Danny says that they could all go out somewhere for the afternoon. Jane asks him where he has in mind - a pinball parlour? Danny walks out, and Nikki is clearly growing tired of her friend.

Park: Helen is telling Madge the full story about Douglas, and Madge is shocked to learn that he walked away with almost $60,000 of the Robinsons' money. Madge wonders why Helen doesn't just go to the police, but Helen thinks it's too risky, as if Douglas finds himself under investigation, he might disappear completely. They watch as Douglas and his new mystery woman part company, and wonder if she's an accomplice or another victim. Madge asks why they should do now - Helen says that she can't very well follow Douglas, as he might see her, but then Madge points out that Douglas doesn't know her.

No 24: Madge and Helen walk in, and Madge is alarmed to find the kitchen in a complete mess. Danny explains that Nikki and Jane have just left, and Madge sends him outside to start cleaning up the garden, and says that she'll make a start on the kitchen. She then sits down with Helen and again suggests that she should go to the police - Helen says that Douglas made a fool of her and going to the police wouldn't be enough. She says that she wants to con Douglas and get Jim's money back, but she can't do it on her own, and Madge smiles and agrees to help. Helen says that she needs to think more about this, but she'll come back later, and Danny walks in with some wet towels, as Helen heads out the door. Madge points out that the house looks like he's had more than two people over - he says that it was just Jane and Nikki, and they spent the day complaining and picking on him, then disappeared without helping him to tidy up. Madge says that it's a good lesson for him, and warns that she wants the kitchen to be spotless in ten minutes.

. . .

No 26: Helen is tearing up some of her old sketches, as Nikki walks in and asks what she's doing. Helen explains that she's burying some memories that she'd like to forget - she then looks at Nikki and says that it's better than lying about things. Nikki explains that she has to lie to the other girls, because they'd never accept her if they found out that her mother was poor. Helen isn't impressed, but Nikki says that her mum forced her to go to that boarding school and she's just doing what she needs to, in order to survive.

Bus Station: Lucy is excitedly waiting with Jim as Scott's bus pulls in to the station. As the passengers start to get off, there's no sign of Scott. Lucy asks where he is, and Jim goes and checks that there's nobody else on the bus, before admitting that he doesn't know where Scott is.
