As Ned & Katya left for Adelaide, our joy turned to sorrow as one of them decided to stay...

At the court, just as everyone thought that all was lost, Toadie played his final card, a witness, Robert Robinson. With the help of some acting from Katya (yes, acting), Toadie convinced Robert that he and the eldest Kinski girl were now an item, which sent Robert into a fit of rage, convincing the court that Max was right to try and protect Katya. As Max received a sentence of eight years imprisonment suspended for five, everyone was left eating humble pie with Toadie. Ironically, whilst Toadie had won the case, by saving Max, he’d lost Steph and looking at the message on his hands that he’d shown Robert in court, began to feel that Steph never really loved him. Meanwhile, Summer returned to visit Max, but it soon became clear that things at number 32 weren’t back to normal and Max & Steph were just too scared to admit it.

Katya caught Ned considering stealing from Charlie to fuel his gambling addiction and suggested that he make a fresh start in Adelaide with her, however after learning that he would be missing out of a big game of poker at Paul’s house that night and learning that the horse Katya convinced him not to bet on had won, Ned decided to stay. Desperate for cash, Ned visited the residents of Ramsay Street, lying in order raise money for his gambling, but soon ended up further and further in debt as he borrowed money off Ari Piven, a ‘plant’ that Paul had arranged to lend Ned money. Worried that his family and friends would find out what he had done, Ned pleaded with Paul to help him fend Ari off.

Susan’s plan to have Katya sneak Springsteen to a farm in Adelaide failed as he crowed at the last minute and as Steiger warned Karl to control Springsteen’s incessant crowing, he considered bringing back Dr. Little to sort the bird out. Meanwhile, the cockerel managed to cause chaos at the unveiling of Janelle’s bust, as he somehow ended up on top of Jeremy Raft’s masterpiece. Susan was further annoyed with Karl over the state of the house, demanding that he do his share of chores and with a little help from Bree, Susan found a way to get him to do the work – aiming for his ego. However, as Karl enlisted Dylan to help him with the chores, despite Dylan hiding as Susan returned, she knew exactly what had been going on, adding Dylan to the list of those who believe in Susan’s Ninja powers.

Stingray & Rachel found themselves drifting further and further away from each other and the pair called it a day, whilst Ringo struggled to hide his feelings for Rachel. Meanwhile, Sky & Stingray realised that they had become more than just mates, leaving Janelle worried about Dylan, but everyone was surprised when he tried to act maturely over the situation, by inviting the new couple to join Oliver, Carmella, Frazer, Rosetta, Elle and himself on a Valentine’s Day getaway. Meanwhile, as part of his deal with Paul, Ned blagged himself a place on the trip in order to put Paul’s plan into action, but just what was he going to do? At the house that Rosie had booked, Ned set out to drive a wedge between Carmella & Oliver, and after seeing that Elle & Dylan were already arguing over Sky & Stingray, got Carmella & Dylan drunk and led them to fall out with their respective partners. Once they had both fallen asleep due to the excessive amount of alcohol they’d drank, Ned put an unaware Dylan in bed with Carmella, but just what does Paul have planned for Elle & Oliver?. Meanwhile, as Frazer tried to tell Rosetta the truth about his identitiy, she assumed that he talking about them sleeping together, but after realising that wasn’t the case, Rosetta apologised, telling him that she has major trust issues with men, previously ending relationships before they even begin because the guy wasn’t patient or honest enough, leaving Frazer unable to tell her the truth yet again.

Harold’s back put Kerry in danger yet again as a twinge caused him to leave her in the car whilst he went into Grease Monkey’s to get some milk. However he had left the keys in the ignition and came out to discover that the car had been stolen, with Kerry still inside. Later, Paul, who had witnessed the whole thing, was stunned to later find Harold’s car with Kerry still inside parked at Lassiter’s and as Sky & Dylan berated Harold for his actions telling him they no longer trusted him with Kerry, Harold made up a story about being carjacked in order to keep the last of his family in his life. Afterwards, Paul questioned Harold over his lie but ultimately told Harold that he’d go along with the story, as he knew that having Harold in her life was the best thing for Kerry.

Pepper caught Lolly & Bree with a packet of cigarettes and somehow, Lolly convinced Bree to cover for her, but as Janelle confronted Lou & Harold about the situation, Lolly, overhearing, strangely began hitting herself on the shoulder. As Lolly admitted the truth, she found herself suspended for a day, but somehow convinced Lou & Harold to take her to a special lunch held by Australian Idol host, Andrew G. Desperate to impress his daughter and without an invite, Lou snuck in through the kitchen and mistakenly offended Andrew, thinking he was the chef, but, after learning Lou’s reasons for doing so, Andrew invited Lou, Lolly, Harold and Pepper, who had pretended to be ill to get the day off work, to the lunch.

Also this week, Pepper’s relationship with Paul progressed even further in a hilarious scene interspersed with shots of trains, tunnels and Paul’s false leg being thrown onto the couch, along with their clothes. Bree told Harold that he could keep Willow/Tazzle. Carmella realised that Rosie hadn’t given the money away and set out to find it, whilst Janae was furious to learn that Glenn was on her way to Erinsborough and pleaded with Elle to stop her coming.
