Roger Nixon 2006
During the ball for Eden University’s medical students, Roger Nixon presented various awards, including one for a placement at a rural hospital, given to the first year student with the best grades. Both Boyd Hoyland and his date, Sasha Hennessy, were in the running, with Sasha especially keen to win as both of her parents, prominent surgeons, had won the award in their uni days. But it was a shocked Boyd who triumphed and spent the rest of the night celebrating.

• Ellis returned later in 2006 as Gerard Hancock and in 2007 as Ray Krebs
