Unseen Character Profiles > Conrad Sinclair

Conrad Sinclair
Children: Reece, Krista

Billionaire Conrad Sinclair had business interests - not to mention ex-wives and children - all over the world. When one of his children, Krista, went missing, her last contact coming from Lassiters Hotel in Erinsborough, Australia, Conrad and the family were concerned, particularly as she had past drug problems. Wanting to avoid a family scandal, Conrad did his best to avoid the police or the press finding out. After buying into the hotel, Conrad used private investigators to find Krista, but there was on trace of her, so he sent eldest daughter Reece to see what she could find out.

Initially reluctant to look for her younger sister, as things had ended badly between them, Reece kept her identity a secret and began a relationship with hotel porter Byron Stone. When it was discovered that she was a Sinclair, Reece claimed that she was just there to keep an eye on her father’s investment, eventually telling Byron the truth about her search for Krista. When the truth finally came out about Krista's disappearance, it initially appeared that she was dead, with several Erinsborough residents covering up an accident in which Melanie Pearson feared she had killed her. However, it then emerged that she was actually alive, with controlling boyfriend Eden Shaw keeping her away from Erinsborough, allowing him to blackmail Melanie, and Paul Robinson, about what had happened. As Reece tried to get through to her father, she eventually received a call from his right-hand woman, Tess Carmichael, who explained that Conrad had suffered from a massive stroke and was in surgery. With Krista suffering withdrawals from the drugs that Eden had got her hooked on, she was unable to travel, but Reece returned to America to be with her father and run the family business. A few days later, word came through the Conrad had passed away.
