Trying to move on with his life after separating from Susan, Karl Kennedy tried online dating. His first couple of dates with Olivia Bell ended badly, but Karl tried again with vet Lyndall Stokes. As they chatted, he told her about his pet dog Audrey, who'd died the previous year, and she put her hand on his to comfort him, witnessed by Susan, who was beginning to have second thoughts about the pending divorce, as Karl had tried to kiss her the night before. Believing that Karl's date was a sign that he didn't want her back, Susan decided not to say anything, unaware that Karl was actually turning Lyndall down for a second date, telling her that things were still unresolved with his ex-wife and he wasn't quite ready to move on yet.
