No 24 - Danny's bedroom: Danny is looking at his trophy when Maria spots him and tells him she is very proud of him for it. No 26 - Front garden: Scott agrees to go for a milkshake with Danny rather than face going indoors to be part of the babysitting of the Brown kids.

No 26 - Kitchen: Jim is keen to find any clue to where Ted Brown may work, thinking he remembers him talking about being in advertising. Jim is unhappy at having to deal with Carol Brown’s problems but when Lucy comes in to complain about playing with Josie, he sends her back outside to carry on doing so. Helen questions why Jim has suddenly decided he’s against helping the neighbours but Jim makes it clear he is in no mood to talk about it.

No 24 - Lounge: Maria brings Max a glass of wine and admits he suspects from the number of empty bottles in Carol’s kitchen that Danny could be right about her false claims he hurt her kids. Maria urges him to talk to Danny about it and why he won the competition but Max still feels like Danny may have done that out of spite rather than anything else. Maria tells him Danny just wants him to be proud of him – Max softens and makes reference to finding a place for Danny’s trophy - Maria smiles.

No 26 - Lounge: Julie complains about the Brown’s children staying and the family being taken advantage of but Helen is not interested in her decisions being questioned by her. Paul is on the phone trying to find Father. Barry and Julie is surprised to hear Daphne is trying to find him to after what Carol Brown did to her. Paul comments that that is the type of good person Daphne is. Julie asks Paul’s opinion about Daphne & Des’s relationship and Paul recommends if she is interested in Des she should find out herself.

. . .

No 28: Daphne emerges from her bedroom dressed as a cowgirl as part of her routine having been hired to open a new stockcar racetrack. Des tells her he’s busy going through his ‘little black book’ to try and find a date and comes across the number for Rita Beasley. Des calls the number but speaks to a man who reveals he is Mike Beasley, her husband. Des hangs up the phone.

No 26 - Kitchen/lounge: Lucy tells Helen she is bored playing and wants to ask Jim about a problem at school. Jim dismisses Lucy’s need to chat much to Helen’s disgust but Lucy tells them she knows from Julie that Jim is having a midlife crisis. Helen goes to answer the front door to find a very embarrassed Carol asking for her children. Jim goes to get them. Helen asks how she feels and Carol tells her she is very angry that they took her children especially after she was only suffering from dizziness.

No 28 - Daphne's bedroom: Des arrives waking Daphne with breakfast and demands they talk. Des wants her to know he intends to take back control of his life and wants to set some rules. Daphne however realises he’s woken her up after only a few hours sleep and sends him packing.

No 26 - Lounge: Kevin Barry arrives and Paul takes him to one side to tell him about Carol.

No 26 - Kitchen: Helen tries to explain Carol’s rudeness to Lucy who repeats she heard Paul tell Julie that Carol was drunk. Helen asks Lucy to not repeat it to anyone and changes the subject to why Lucy wanted to talk about school. Lucy tells her it doesn’t matter.

No 26 - Scott and Paul's bedroom: Paul explains to Kevin about Carol’s drinking and he seems to already know there was an existing problem and decides to get over to see Carol.

No 30 - Hallway/kitchen: Kevin arrives and despite Carol’s insistence that she just suffered from dizziness Kevin confronts her about the drinking and admits her husband spoke to him last week about his concerns for the children when she drinks. Carol pleads that she wasn’t drinking but Kevin doubts her.

No 28 - Lounge: Daphne arrives home exhausted but she receives a visit from Julie who acts very friendly towards her, asking if she’d like to join the tennis club as she’d hoped Des & her would play in the mixed doubles competition. Daphne declines over her busy schedule but sees Julie is fishing about Des & her. Daphne makes it clear she & Des are only friends.

. . .

No 24 - Lounge: Maria is worried about Max trying to reason with Danny when it is so late and he is late coming home. Danny arrives and Max immediately challenges him to where he’s been. Danny’s explanation that he’s been working stacking shelves at the local supermarket do not calm Max and he decides to ground Danny for two weeks. Danny storms off to his room and Maria shakes her head in despair.

. . .

No 26 - Lounge: Lucy returns from school and Helen asks if her problem has gone away – Lucy tells her it has and she’ll work it out on her own.

. . .

No 26 - Lounge: Jim arrives home and Scott begs him to tell Max that Danny is telling the truth about working at the supermarket as he got him the job. Jim refuses to get involved and warns Scott to stay out of others business. Scott storms off out of the house. Jim remarks to Helen that Scott is out of order but she delivers the home truth that it is him that is the problem by becoming so close off to his children’s needs. Helen asks him to try and stop feeling sorry for himself. Jim agrees he has to get past things but will do so in his own time.

. . .

No 28 - Driveway: Des arrives with Julie after a smoother ride home than last time. They agree to go out to dinner together tomorrow and Julie lies again she’ll need a lift to work again as her car is still broken.

Local shops: Danny & Scott are looking for speakers for Danny to buy when they spot Carol clearly drunk walking past them. Scott feels sympathetic but Danny isn’t after the way she treated him. Carol turns the corner to walk down an alleyway as Danny leaves Scott to look at a shop further down the road.

Alleyway: Carol staggers down the alley and is suddenly pushed to the floor as a mugger steals her purse and runs off. Danny walks past and notices her lying on the floor and rushes over to assist but in her confusion Carol screams out help, claiming that Danny has mugged her.
