Recap
• Danny tells Scott that he'll be driving Richard's new car
• Daphne meets Colin, her new neighbour
• Max and Maria admit that they still love each other
• Something suddenly smashes against the wall, next to Daphne

Daphne's House: Daphne is cleaning up the broken glass, when she hears someone knock at the back door. She calls out, but it's Colin from next-door - she goes to let him in, and he says that he saw the police and gathered that there'd been another incident. She admits that it's a bit creepy, but that Shane will be back soon. Colin offers to stay with her until Shane returns, and says that he'll enjoy being a knight in shining armour, at least until the real one comes along.

No 28 - Dining Table: Julie is helping Des to go through his accounts, and can't help criticising him when she mentions that his 1's and 7's look the same. They continue, and then she suggests that he should have singing lessons - she says he has a lovely voice, and the lessons would help to take the twang out of it. She tells him that she'd prefer his cushions in a shade of yellow, and asks if he has any water instead of coffee, and he snaps at her. He tries to return to the accounts, but she tells him that he used to be so easygoing, and that she was only trying to help. He points out that she's criticised his decor, his voice, his drink selection and his personality - she storms out, telling him not to ask her for any more favours. Des just looks confused.

No 26 - Kitchen: Danny and Scott come in, and Danny is criticising Scott's guitar playing - Scott tells him to just go home, as he doesn't like him when he's in this sort of mood. Danny points out that he has every right to be in a bad mood with Richard Morrison hanging around, but Scott says that Richard gave Danny that money, and is going to help him learn to drive, so he can't really complain. Danny thinks that Richard talked Maria into stopping cooking his meals and cleaning up behind him - but Scott thinks that Maria might have made that decision for herself. Scott believes that Danny might just have to learn to live with Richard's presence, but Danny thinks that he just needs to find a new way to get rid of him. Julie then comes in, complaining about Scott's noisy guitar playing, and says that she wants some peace. Scott refuses to stop, so she tells him and Danny to go outside. Danny suggests that they should go and see Max.

Daphne's House - Living Room: Daphne is laughing at a story that Colin is telling, and Shane walks in to find them very close on the couch. Daphne jumps up to see Shane, and introduces Colin - Shane gives him a frosty reception. Colin then says that he'll leave them both to it, blowing a kiss to Daphne as he goes. Shane points out that she shouldn't be letting strangers into the house, when there's a suspected prowler on the loose. Daphne just asks Shane if he's feeling threatened by Colin.

Max's Bedsit: Danny and Scott walk in, with their guitars, and Danny goes to have some of Max's leftover fish fingers. Max points out that Scott's guitar has a string missing, and then starts to play, telling Danny that he gave it up years ago when he and Maria got together. Danny starts to complain about Richard again, but Max and Scott think that Danny's behaviour is only making the situation worse, and he should just let things happen the way they're meant to happen.

No 26 - Lounge: Julie answers the door to Des, who's come to apologise to her. She apologises to, and starts rushing around - he asks if she's going out, and she explains that she's going to a concert. She invites Des to come along, and he goes home to get changed. He then pops back and asks who's playing - Julie says that it's a Russian pianist, but she's forgotten his name.

Max's Bedsit: Max is lying on the couch, reading a magazine, when the doorbell rings. He answers and a woman asks if this is where Shane Ramsay lives. Max explains that it is, but he's not home now. She writes down her number and asks Max to pass it on.

No 26 - Kitchen: Des tells Julie that he's glad he went to the concert, and admits that the company made it special. He starts to talk about missing having someone to talk to since Joan left him, and he asks Julie if she still thinks about Philip Martin. She says that they agreed not to contact each other, and that she's doing her best to stop thinking about him and move on. Des says that he still trips over the toys that the kids left behind, and Julie tells him to send them back to Joan, or give them away to the Smith family. Des admits that it's difficult to let go of his last link to Joan, but he'll do it tomorrow. They sit and look at each other, then Des snaps out of it and asks her if she made the cake they're eating. Julie says that she did, and she'll make one for him. He says that it's like old times with the two of them spending time together, and it's good to have friends around.

Daphne's House - Living Room: Daphne notices that Shane is dozing next to her on the couch, and says that this all seems very domestic, and more than 'just good friends'. Shane says that the house is becoming a bit of a hassle, and suggests that she move back to Des's place, but she doesn't want to run away. He says that he can't come running whenever she hears a noise, and Daphne gets annoyed, saying that she hadn't realised it was such a chore. He follows her into the kitchen, and she says that he didn't seem to mind, but if he wants to, he can leave. He says that he feels like he might, but then settles down on the couch, telling Daphne that he won't have her accusing him of walking out.

No 26 - Lounge/Kitchen: Julie shows Des to the door, and he thanks her for a very nice evening. As she's seeing Des off, Jim arrives home - Julie follows him into the kitchen, and asks how his meeting went. Jim says that it was dull, and then he asks Julie how she's getting on with Des these days. She tells her father that they went to a concert this evening, and Jim warns her to be careful, as both she and Des have been hurt lately. Julie insists that they're just friends, but Jim thinks that a rebound affair could just pop up out of nowhere, as they're both very vulnerable. Julie assures her father that she knows what she's doing, and Jim says that he's proud of the way she's dealt with the Philip situation. Julie again apologises to him for how she behaved when Anna was around, and Jim insists that he forgave her for that a long time ago. Julie admits that she just felt threatened, and was worried that Anna was going to take her place in the family. She tells Jim that she loves him.

Daphne's House - Living Room: Daphne wanders in, as Shane sleeps on the couch, and whispers to him that she's too scared to sleep alone. He doesn't wake up, so she goes and gets a pillow and blanket, and lies down on the floor next to him.

No 26 - Kitchen: Julie finds Danny having breakfast with Jim and Scott, and tells him that he really needs to sort things out with his mother. Jim isn't impressed when Danny then steals a bit of toast from him, but Julie tells Danny just to think of them as his family, if things get too difficult at home. Scott mentions the concert at the weekend, and Jim says that he would have liked to hear about it sooner. Julie isn't happy to hear that they're going to a rock concert, pointing out that they're full of drugs and diseases, not to mention noise pollution. She says that they need to take towels and soap, and she'll pack some healthy food and vitamins for them. Danny comments that anyone would think they were going to the outer foothills of Tibet.

Daphne's House - Living Room/Kitchen: Daphne is in a very good mood, bringing in tea and toast for Shane. He didn't sleep too well, but she says that it was the best night's sleep she'd had in ages. Colin then knocks at the back door. Shane says that he needs to get going, but is unhappy when Colin asks Daphne to come back to his place for bacon and eggs.

Ramsay Street - No 26 Driveway: Julie walks down from the house with Scott and Danny, who thank her for the sandwiches she made them. She asks them if they need a lift to school from Des - they turn her down - and she walks off, telling them to have a good day. Scott is completely confused by Julie's change of personality, and Danny says that this is what it's like living with his mum.

Daphne's House - Back Garden: Daphne is walking around the back of the house when she hears a noise. She stops and looks around.

Max's Bedsit: Max is in a good mood, after his singalong with Scott and Danny last night, and a good night's sleep. A groggy Shane walks in, complaining about having to sleep on the couch last night, but he quickly perks up when he hears that a woman called Liz came looking for him, and she left her number.

. . .

Daphne's House - Back Garden: Daphne picks up a small gardening tool next to her, and starts slowly walking towards the house. She pushes against the gate, and starts to think that she must have been imagining things, but then hears another noise, and some glass breaking. She hides behind a wall, and then reaches out to open the door next to her...
