Recap
• No recap

No 24: Shane finds Danny looking through the newspaper for a second job, and explains that he needs the extra cash to take Marcia on a weekend to Surfer's Paradise. Shane thinks she's just using Danny, who says that he just needs another $1000. Shane suggests that they should just save some money and take the bus.

No 26: Jim asks Paul when he's planning on returning to work - Paul announces that he's thought it through and he's quitting the airline. Jim thinks his son should find another job before ditching this one, but Paul says that he met a businessman on a flight who offered him an opportunity - and he's not going to sit around and wait for things to come to him any more, he wants to make the most of every opportunity.

No 24: Danny is sitting and reading the newspaper, and loud music can be heard. Max assumes that it's Danny and starts screaming at him from the bedroom to turn it down, then appears and turns off the radio, only to find that it wasn't on in the first place. He then realises that the music is coming from Clive's house and says he's going to deal with 'the mangy mongrel' just as Madge arrives back from church, wanting to know what all the fuss is about. Max storms off, saying that he's going to give Clive a piece of his mind - Madge tells him to be careful, as he hasn't got that much to give away.

. . .

Ramsay Street: Max starts banging on the door of number 22 - the music goes off and Clive opens the door. Max reminds him that it's a Sunday morning, and Clive says that he's heard from the other neighbours that Max is a sticky beak, asking him if he'd like to come in and see what's going on. Max takes a step inside, but then changes his mind - Clive tells him that he's trespassing now, and therefore breaking the law, and suggests that Max go and annoy someone else.

No 26/Lee Adams' House: Paul makes a call to Lee Adams, one of the nurses who treated him in hospital, and she asks how he is. He says that he's better and he wondered if she'd like to go out for dinner that night. She explains that she's working, but is free the following night, so he arranges to pick her up at 7.30pm. Helen and Jim have heard the call, and Jim is about to say something, but Helen stops him.

No 24: Madge is cleaning the house, and Max is still furious about the way Clive spoke to him. Danny, meanwhile, is in a funny mood and admits to Max that there's a girl on his computer course that he can't stop thinking about. He says that they were watching Perfect Match and the girl, Marcie, said that she'd love if it a guy offered her a tropical holiday. He admits that he offered to take her somewhere, and wonders if Max could lend him some money. Madge thinks that the whole thing sounds immoral, and that Marcie sounds as common as dirt, but Max, eager to annoy his sister, tells Danny that he'll help him out, but only gives him $20. Danny quickly leaves as things between Madge and Max descend into an argument.

Ramsay Street: Danny finds Shane outside, and tells him about the argument, wondering why Max lets Madge speak to him like that, as he wouldn't take it from anyone else. Shane tells Danny that he can come over to his apartment if things get too much at the house, and Danny wonders if he could bring Marcie too. He then suggests that, if Shane moved back home, then Madge would have to move out and then everything would be better. Max then runs outside with the same idea, and continues to pester Shane about it, insisting that he really misses having him around.

No 28: Daphne has finished drawing up a list of wedding guests, and is trying to work out who'll be chauffeur, when Max walks in. Zoe suggests that he'd be perfect to give Daphne away, and he agrees to do it. Paul has been sitting quietly, and says that he might leave them to it. Daphne asks Max if he'll be happy to wear 'a monkey suit' and he thinks she's making a crack about Clive, and says that he's been keeping him awake all night with the noise coming from the house. He goes on to say that he needs to borrow a shovel, as he left his tools at the worksite - Des jokingly asks if he needs to 'bury a few bodies' but Max takes offence, asking if Madge has been talking about him behind his back, and he storms out of the house.

. . .

No 26: Helen and Paul are washing up, when Max makes a loud arrival through the back door, and Paul quickly runs off, leaving Helen to deal with him alone. He explains that he's having trouble with Madge, and she's the most disagreeable person he's ever had to deal with. He tells her that now Madge is trying to interfere in Danny's love life, and is calling it immoral, and he's had enough of her. He asks Helen if she might try to sound out Madge about going back to Coffs Harbour - Helen agrees to give it a try.

Ramsay Street: Jim is outside, attempting to get a remote controlled car jack to work, when Max joins him and asks what they're going to do about Clive Gibbons. Jim says that he isn't causing any problems for number 26, but Max explains that the noise is keeping him awake at night, and he's asked him to be quiet but had no success. Jim says that he should try asking nicely, but Max says that he's got another idea. The jack still isn't working - Max says that he knew it wouldn't, but then Jim kicks it and it starts to work properly.

No 26: Helen is delighted to hear that Jim's invention is a success - Madge then arrives, and Jim quickly leaves. Madge walks straight through to the kitchen, without being invited, and Helen asks if there's something she wants. Madge sits herself down and says that she can't believe Max's attitude, and now it's rubbing off on Danny, who's been bringing the disgusting ideas of this Marcia girl into the house. Helen suggests that Madge might be happier back in Coffs Harbour, but Madge says that she can't leave now and neglect her family duties. Helen then tells her that Shane will be moving back in - Madge realises that this is Max's plan to get rid of her, but she says that Shane and Danny will just have to share a room, and at least now she'll have all three of the boys under one roof, where she can keep an eye on them.

. . .

No 28: Daphne is doing some sewing, when there's a knock at the door. Des answers, and it's Danny, wanting a word about his pay at the bank. He says that he needs some money urgently, and wonders if he might be able to get a loan. Des says that, if he's struggling to make ends meet now, then he wouldn't be able to pay back the loan either. He then suddenly realises that Danny is 'the mug' who's offered to take Marcie to Surfer's Paradise. Danny's face drops as he learns that the whole bank has been laughing about him - Des can't stop laughing, and Danny walks out. Daphne tells Des that he should be ashamed of himself.

No 24: Madge is on the phone, making enquiries about visiting hours. Afterwards, Max comes in with a beer, and Madge tells him that they'll have to fix up the spare bed in Danny's room - she says that she knows what he was trying to do, but he isn't going to get rid of her that easily. She leaves, and Max takes his anger out on Danny, who's just walked in - then the music starts up again next-door, which upsets Max even more.

H.M. Prison Pentridge: Madge tentatively walks up to the prison entrance, and goes inside.

No 24: Max and Danny are forced to have the TV volume up very loud, just so they can hear it over the music at number 22. Max declares that the situation is ridiculous, and none of the other neighbours seem to care. He then reminds Danny about the recording they made once before, and says that he has an idea, and starts laughing to himself.

No 24: Later, Max's alarm goes off at 4am, and he and Danny sneak into the lounge room. Danny presses play on a tape of very loud animal noises, and Max excitedly watches from the window.

No 26: Jim, Helen and Paul have all been woken by the noise and they leave the house, believing it's coming from Clive's place. Lucy then appears and follows them out.

No 28: Des, Daphne and Zoe have all been woken up too. A confused Des thinks that the noises are coming from their roof, but Daphne and Zoe drag him out the front door.

. . .

No 24: Shane and Madge appear from the bedrooms, telling Max to turn off the noise. Max ignores them, shouting that he's just giving Clive a taste of his own medicine. Danny then looks round and sees the residents of numbers 26 and 28 standing in the kitchen, not looking too pleased. Shane spots Zoe amongst them, and she runs off, as he chases her. To make matters worse, Max then spots Clive arriving home, and Danny says that all of this has been for nothing.
