With her son, Hendrix, living in Erinsborough with his father, Pierce, Lisa Rowsthorn was unaware of just how much trouble Hendrix had been causing, particularly due to a crush he'd developed on his stepmother, Pierce's wife Chloe. As the situation got out of hand, Hendrix ended up moving across the road to stay with the Kennedys, and with his mum finally filled in on everything that had been going on, she announced that she would be paying them all a visit. With Hendrix fearing that his mum was going to drag him back to Sydney, she surprised him when she said that, although she was disappointed with the way he'd behaved with Chloe, she was happy with him staying with the Kennedys and wouldn't be taking him back to Sydney unless he wanted to go.

It was during this visit that Hendrix finally found out the truth about his parents - Lisa had accidentally fallen pregnant when Pierce was only eighteen and, after Hendrix was born, the couple had split up. Happy to parent on her own, Lisa had allowed Pierce the occasional visit, but had then asked him to help when she decided that she wanted another child. She had paid Pierce to help her get pregnant through IVF, and with that money he'd bought his first vineyard, the first step to becoming a very wealthy businessman. Hendrix was horrified by this revelation, not to mention the fact that Lisa had decided that her children didn't need a father in their lives. With Hendrix struggling to forgive either of his parents, Pierce was left confused over why Lisa had suddenly chosen to turn up and tell their son the truth, and she admitted that she had an ulterior motive, telling Pierce that she wanted to use another of their frozen embryos to have another baby. Pierce and Chloe were shocked as Lisa explained that she and her partner, James, had been trying for a baby for over a year and the stress of the situation had split them up, so the frozen embryos might be her last chance, and best option, to be a mum again. Though Pierce was appalled by the idea and didn't want to go ahead with it, Chloe made him see that he should at least consider it, as Lisa planned to move to Erinsborough with Alana and the new baby, allowing Pierce to have a go at being a proper father, which, due to her Huntington's Disease, was something she might not be able to give him.

After thinking things over for a few days, and putting the idea past Hendrix, Chloe realised that Pierce wanted the chance to be a dad again and they told Lisa that they would go ahead with her plan. However, Chloe quickly regretted this, going to Pierce and admitting that the whole thing had made her realise that, after years of believing that she didn't want a baby of her own, she might have changed her mind. As Lisa started speaking to lawyer Toadie about drawing up a co-parenting arrangement, she was devastated when Chloe and Pierce broke the news that they'd changed their minds. When Chloe's brother Aaron and his husband, David, heard that Lisa was now planning to find a sperm donor to give her the baby she wanted, they talked things over and decided to approach Lisa with the suggestion. Having seen them looking after Aster, the daughter of their housemate Elly, and having heard good things about them from Chloe, Lisa agreed to stick around in Erinsborough for a little longer in order to discuss things. Unfortunately for Aaron and David, Lisa soon had to break the news that she was already pregnant to James, her ex and, having patched things up with Hendrix, Lisa flew back home to Sydney, where baby Maeve was born later that year.

A couple of years later, Hendrix took his girlfriend Mackenzie Hargreaves to visit his family in Sydney, catching up with Pierce, who'd since moved back to Sydney, as well as Lisa, and his sisters Alana and baby Maeve. There, he broke the news that he'd been diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis and would need a lung transplant. Whilst in Sydney, realising that life was too short to waste, Hendrix also proposed to Mackenzie and, just a couple of weeks later, Lisa, Pierce and Alana visited Erinsborough for the wedding, which was taking place early due to Hendrix receiving a date for his transplant operation. Tragically, Hendrix suddenly started struggling for breath after the operation and, as Mackenzie, Lisa and Pierce waited for news at the hospital, they were informed that his body had rejected the new lungs and he had only a few hours to live. The trio then sat with Hendrix as he passed away and, the following week, as a memorial took place in Erinsborough, Mackenzie flew to Sydney, where she and Hendrix's family said their final farewells to him.
