When Libby Kennedy decided to sue The Chronicle newspaper, who had withdrawn a job offer to her after finding out she was pregnant, the case reached a stalemate and a mediator, Rosylyn Wright, was called in. Rosylyn, after hearing both sides, declared that, if neither party called for a public hearing within 60 days, the case would be dismissed. Fortunately for Libby, it didn’t come to that, as, shortly afterwards, she was given some emails by Nancy Kelloway, assistant to newspaper editor Martin West, which proved the unfair dismissal claims and led to an out-of-court settlement.
