When Erinsborough residents Rick Alessi and Debbie Martin were in London, after winning tickets to a Michael Jackson concert, they fell victim to pickpocket George Carter, who ran off with Rick’s camera. Rick and Debbie caught up with George, and his father, and got the camera back, but felt bad after hearing that George’s brother, Terry, was ill. After tracking down George, they met Terry, his brother, who was dying of leukaemia. They found out that Terry’s two big passions in life were Arsenal football club and Michael Jackson. They found out that George had only been stealing to try and gather enough money to send Terry to the concert, as it might be his only chance, and decided to hand over their tickets. As a thank you, George and Terry’s father, who was a groundskeeper at Highbury football ground, arranged for them all to attend a match together, and Rick and Debbie even managed to appear on the UK chatshow, The Casey Butler Show, to talk about their good deed. A few months after they returned to Erinsborough, Rick and Debbie learnt that Terry had passed away.
