Channel Seven: 21/03/85, BBC One: 30/10/86, UK Gold: 05/11/92

The Taylor house - Driveway/lounge: Kim rushes down her homes driveway to get in as quickly as possible. She settles down to read a magazine in the lounge when Marcia walks into the room asking where she’s been. Kim lies saying that she has been over at her friend Betty Regan’s house but Marcia reveals she spoke to Betty and knows that isn’t true. Kim admits she went on a bus ride to Oakley but says nothing else. Marcia continues to question Kim who tells her to stop asking!

No 26 - Lounge: Scott is dreaming of being alone with Kim in the pool as the sun sets and kissing her – he snaps out of it and starts asking Helen about her getting married at nearly 17 and if she was having sex before marriage – Helen is a little taken aback and asks why Scott is asking. Embarrassed he changes the subject, voicing what they have both been thinking. What is happening over at no 28?

No 28 - Lounge: Lorraine tells Des he is embarrassing himself living with a stripper. Lorraine informs Daphne she has to move out of the house but Des points out that he is paying the mortgage and Daphne stays. In spite Lorraine reminds them she paid for the furniture and kitchen so she doesn’t want them used by Daphne unless Des buys it all off her. After she storms out Des feels being dumped was the best thing Lorraine could have done.

No 26 - Lounge/kitchen: Jim returns home with groceries and explains to Helen he met Lorraine coming out of No.28 crying. Helen is eager to know what caused it but Jim never got that far with Lorraine only mentioning she’ll call Julie before Julie goes off on holiday. Scott lets Helen know he is not home for dinner the following night as he’s on a dinner date with ‘a chick’. Helen and Jim are pleased to hear Scott is out on his first ever dinner date.

The Taylor house - Lounge: Kim’s father Neil mentions about Marcia teaching Heather Jacobson, the daughter of a new accountant he works with. Marcia is quite scathing about Heather not being particularly clever and it causes a heated discussion as to how Marcia is alienating herself with the pupils at school. Marcia is clear though her teaching skills are fine. It is the kids who are the problem. Kim changes the subject to tell her father the news that she is going to the cinema tomorrow but Marcia interrupts to say ‘they’ have changed their minds. Neil doesn’t speak up and Kim is furious.

Ramsay Street: Jim is trying to repair the lawn mower when a very cheery Daphne greets him as she picks flowers from her front garden.

No 28 - Kitchen: Des sleepily emerges from his room to find the table is set for breakfast. Daphne comes back in with the flowers to set on the table and announces she is cooking him breakfast. Des is delighted.

No 26 - Front garden: Jim gets set to start mowing the lawn when Max starts a conversation mentioning Julie going away on holiday for the week. Jim remarks she has gone to the mountains. Max also mentions the stripper but Jim changes the subject away from Daphne towards the repairs to Max’s ceiling. Max takes up Jim’s offer to help repair it.

No 28 - Lounge: Danny is waiting for Scott when he emerges from his bedroom all dressed up in shirt & tie. Scott evades questions about where he’s going to Danny and Helen keeps quiet as well. Scott tells Danny he can’t spend time with him and Eddie editing tapes. Jim comes in and Danny leaves for home. Jim asks whom Scott is seeing and he reveals it is his teacher’s daughter Kim. Scott also mentions that Mrs. Taylor doesn’t know about him and Kim. Jim reminds Scott it is both his and Kim’s responsibility that she does.

The Taylor house - Lounge: Kim plans a way to get out to see Scott by telling her mother she is going for a walk. Marcia wants to join her but Kim refuses. Marcia suspects she is going to meet up with Betty Regan and starts telling Kim she doesn’t realise what kind of bad girl Betty is. Marcia explains she just wants to protect Kim – Kim retorts ‘Do I need you to protect me from a walk!’ and leaves.

Shopping mall: Scott and Kim meet up outside a shopping mall and Kim seeing he is all dressed up learns he was going to take her to dinner. Kim tells him she can’t stay out that long and Scott unruffled offers to get her an ice cream. Behind them Danny and friend Eddie Sherwin smugly follow.

Ice cream parlour/shopping mall: Scott and Kim are nervous around each other as they eat and can’t make their minds up over what they should do next. They realise they are being spied on by a mocking Danny and Eddie and angry walk off to find a place to be alone. Danny & Eddie continue to follow and Eddie is carrying a cassette tape player/recorder.

No 26 - Front garden: Helen and Maria are painting while Jim continues to do the gardening. Maria remarks that Jim never seems to stop working and how it is a shame he never remarried. Suddenly they are interrupted by Lorraine who greets them with some removal men from Mainway to announce she is just here to collect some things from No.28. Jim mentions that Des is not home but Lorraine has her key still. The neighbours watch intently as Lorraine after enquiring about Julie’s holiday heads towards No.28.

No 28 - Lounge: Des is stunned to arrive home and find his whole lounge and kitchen has been emptied by Lorraine. Jim walks in and Des reads a note from Lorraine saying ‘Dear Des, I have listed all the things taken that belong to me. At least you and your lady friend still have a bed. Lorraine’ Daphne arrives and Jim offers some spare furniture and kitchen pieces to help Des and Daphne out. Daphne tells Des she is okay with suddenly paying for an unfurnished home as in Japan she lived in room very similar. Daphne quickly changes the subject and Jim sensing it takes Des to find this spare bits and pieces the Robinson’s have.

Abandoned monastery: Scott leads the way down to an abandoned monastery so he and Kim can be alone. He explains that it was abandoned some years ago but used a lot recently in tv and movies. Kim continues to look around when she realises Scott has disappeared. Scott calls to her from a room below some steps but he suddenly seems to get dragged into the room and calls out. Kim thinks he’s joking before worrying something has happened and rushes down the steps. Inside the room Scott is lying still on his front. Kim goes over to him and leans over. Scott pulls her to the ground and gives her a kiss before she pulls away. Kim goes to leave but comes back for her money he’s holding. Scott apologises for teasing her and they kiss again. Kim is nervous about being intimate and blurts out she thinks he brought her to here for sex. Scott jokes he’s the school rapist. Kim admits she has seen a doctor to go on the pill, as she has never been in the situation where she’s been out with a boy but she’s too young to get it. Scott can see she is distressed and comforts her. Outside Danny and Eddie are recording the conversation while laughing to each other.

Number 28 - Lounge: Des and Jim return with a small table and chairs and Helen with some kitchen pieces. Jim apologises he doesn’t have a spare bed to offer for Daphne. Max arrives to tease Des about losing his furniture making reference to hoping Des and the stripper were moving out. It is clear Max is seeing this as payback for moving a stripper into his street.

No 24 - Kitchen: Danny and Eddie arrive home to be greeted by Max who wants Danny to help him, Shane and Jim repair the ceiling. Danny tries to wriggle out of it to be with Eddie but Eddie doesn’t back his friend up.

Street on the way to the Taylor house: Kim thanks Scott for their day out and they agree to do it again. They kiss and Kim leaves to carry on home

The Taylor house - Lounge: Kim arrives home to find her father there. He comments about the cinema and Kim reminds him she wasn’t allowed to go. Kim tries to get into a conversation about her father not expressing what he wants for her but Neil can only say Marcia has her best intentions at heart. Kim begins to start telling her father about meeting Scott when Marcia rushes in demanding to know why she is home at 5.30pm and has been out for three hours! Kim refuses to answer her questions and warns her mother to stay out of her life. Kim storms off and Neil tries to reason with Marcia to let her at least let Kim bring some friends home. Marcia rebuffs any ideas to let that happen and excuses herself to go to the kitchen.

No 28 - Lounge: Des enters the house carrying another borrowed chair but all is dark and Daphne shining a torch in his face greets him. Daphne explains she has a surprise and turning on the lights he sees the house has been fully furnished. Daphne explains she’ll reveal all over dinner.
