Katrina Marshall 2022, 2023, 2024
Occupation: Lassiters Hotel Housekeeping/Receptionist
When Harlow Robinson,
who worked in housekeeping at Lassiters hotel and was also the granddaughter of hotel owner Paul, started taking time off to work at
Montana Marcel’s fashion week, her colleagues Katrina Marshall and Rebecca Wright were unimpressed. Feeling that they were picking up all of the slack,
and that Harlow was getting preferential treatment, both women made sure to make jibes at her whenever possible. When Harlow was then publicly humiliated
during the fashion show, as a video of her and Ned Willis ripping each other’s clothes off was projected onto her dress on the runway, Katrina became prime
suspect. After denying everything, and being rude and aggressive towards Terese, she was suspended from work.
A few weeks later, during an HR meeting about the incident, Katrina continued to deny that she’d had anything to do with it, pointing out that the strange
Corey Smythe-Jones had been hanging around outside the tent where the fashion show was taking place that day. When it was finally revealed that Corey had
been trying to destroy Harlow’s life for weeks, Katrina received her job back, along with pay for the four weeks she’d been suspended, plus a five percent
pay rise for her loyalty to Lassiters.
A couple of years later, Katrina was sorting through the lost property with colleague Sandy Phillips, when
they were spotted by Reece Sinclair, whose
family had become investors in the hotel. Reece watched as Katrina held up a sun necklace, joking about keeping it for herself - but Reece clearly
recognised the sun and rushed back to her hotel room, where she took out a matching moon necklace. After learning that the hotel's lost property went to
the Sonya Rebecchi Foundation, Reece went there and tracked down the necklace.
The following week, Reece was beginning a search for her missing sister, Krista - the owner of the sun necklace and the real reason that her family had
bought into the hotel and that she
had come to Australia. Knowing that Krista had been at Lassiters before she disappeared, Reece needed to figure out exactly when and were she’d been staying
to see if she could find any clues about where she’d gone. Claiming to be doing market research, Reece asked Katrina to look up the details for every guest
who’d stayed in a particular month - claiming to pick that month at random. Once she had this information, and knowing that Krista had paid cash and was
staying under a fake name, she asked Katrina to get the room service orders for some of those guests, finally narrowing it down and learning that Krista
had been using the name Kelly Miller during her stay.
With hotel co-owner Paul still unaware of the real reason for Reece hanging around in Erinsborough, he was becoming increasingly obsessed with getting rid
of her. While Paul was standing in reception one day, Katrina asked if there was anything she could do to help him, and he had an idea. He sent Katrina off
to find Tina from the spa, asking if she could book a massage for him, then, when the coast was clear, he set off the hotel’s fire alarm. As everyone else
left the building, Paul then took the opportunity to go and search Reece’s room for something he could use against her.
A few weeks later, with Reece back in the USA, after her father Conrad suffered a stroke,
Byron was helping her
younger sister, Krista, through
drug withdrawal. Desperate to be well again and to go and see her dad, Krista refused to go into rehab, instead asking Byron to help her to get a room
at Lassiters where she could recover. As Byron had just quit his job as porter, Katrina was reluctant to help when he asked her to comp a room for Krista,
particularly as Paul Robinson was unhappy with the idea. Byron, however, pointed out that Krista’s father part-owned the hotel and they had no right to
stop her from using it, and Katrina quickly handed over a key card.
A few months later, Katrina was approached by
Sadie Rodwell. A regular visitor to the hotel, as the nanny to
Leo Tanaka's young daughter, Abigail, Sadie was
concerned that
Eden Shaw - the man responsible for the death of Leo's twin brother, and son of Paul Robinson,
David - had visited Lassiters the night before
David's death. Sadie wanted Katrina's help with getting access to the CCTV recordings from that night, but Katrina insisted that she couldn't help. When Sadie
then offered to do Katrina's make-up for an upcoming wedding, which her ex would also be attending, Katrina finally agreed to help. Later that day, she sent
the files to Sadie, which confirmed that Eden had been visiting Paul at the hotel, and that Paul's actions had effectively led to the death of his own son.
A few weeks later, Katrina was one of the hotel staff working at the Lassiters Longest Lie-In. The event was designed by Krista to improve hotel
business, and involved people signing up to see who could spend the longest in a bed in the Lassiters complex, with the winners receiving an all-expenses
paid stay at Lassiters New York. Katrina was clearly unhappy about having to work the event and, when she overheard Krista saying that it all seemed to
have gone well, she was quick to tell her about the disaster that had happened earlier that morning, when Terese Willis found out that her husband Toadie
had cheated on her with Melanie Pearson.
